I'm moving to Dover in a few weeks, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a local pediatrician that is friendly and kind. Thanks for any responses.

What can I do next?

Hi H.,

I moved to Smyrna recently and work in Dover. My pediatrician is a bit of a drive (45 minutes or so) but very worth it. We see Dr. Clark at Total Care Physicians, which is in Glasgow, DE. They have a lot of great pediatricians in the practice, I believe they have Saturday hours, and I have never had a problem getting my son in for an appointment same-day if needed. We have been thrilled with them thus far (my son is 19 months and has always gone there).
Good luck!

Liz

Ditto Della Sue's response for me! I love Dr. Kaza. She was my pediatrician when I was a kid! She rocks! My husband is military, so we use the base (you can't beat FREE!). However, if there was ever an issue with one of my kids--I'd take them to her. She's very good! I'd call their office now though because I think she has a waiting list.

Mothers and More is a great way to meet other moms. Della Sue and I have been members for almost three years. We hope you'll come check us out! Good luck in your move! Traci

My son sees Dr. Cabalerro (sp?) at Dupont Pediatrics. She is very nice and the nurses there are good. I have seen some of the other doctors there and none have been too bad. I don't like Dover Family Physicians. One of the doctors there told me my son was manipulating me at 3 months old because I co-slept with him.

I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Kaza (say "Kah-zuh") and her group. I don't know how many docs there are with her but I know there are at least 2.

I see the docs on base so I'm afraid I don't know personally.

When you get here, you may consider joining Mothers & More--it's a great resource for moms of young kids, especially moms new to the area--you get to meet other moms right away!

Let me know if you'd like more info!
