The practive that I am currently taking my kids to has really made me angry!! I feel like any time that I call when my daughter is sick I am a burden to them. It seems that they have forgotten that they are dealing with kids, and they need to be more sensitive to their needs. I am looking for a pediatrician that will cater to the needs of my children for whatever it is, sickness or even just a check up! I would really like a kid friendly doctor please help!! If any of you moms out there know of any awesome Dr.'s out on the East side please let me know I would like to make the switch before my sons 4 month check up in May!!!

hey there, i'm not sure where you are located at, but i take my son to a portland family practice ot about 28th and Glisan in portland. our doc is josh regan and he is AWESOME! both he his mother and father work at the practice as well. he was my obgyn through my pregnancy as well. i had complications, and i was even able to call him at home after hours with any problems and his entire family makes a point to let you know that you are NEVER a burden. my son absoultly loves him. all of the doctors at the facility are patient and open minded. highly reccomended. they are great. good luck!

I love Dr. Ed Hofmann-Smith. He is a naturopathic doctor who owns the Natural Childbirth and Family Clinic on 10360 N.E. Wasco St. ###-###-####, He is able to give you the best of both worlds - a wholistic perspective on childcare and well versed in the traditional medical world. He also takes lots of insurance. I recommend him highly!

Hi,

It seems a few people have already recommended Broadway Medical Group but I thought I would toss another doctor from there into the mix. My daughter sees Dr. James Coughlin and I really like him, so does she. He is very patient and never makes me feel as if he's rushing off somewhere else. he is also very supportive of my parenting choices and is an all around great doctor in my opinion

I take my kids to East Portland Pediatrics too. They are wonderful. There are several doctors and nurses. They always have a genuine concern for my problems and call back immediately if there is a problem. I can get in usually within an hour of calling and the nurses always call my kids by name (maybe it's just that they visit the doctor too much) but they don't treat me like an over protective parent. They treat every concern I have accordingly and Dr. Skau is their main doctor. They know he will draw them a picture on a tounge depressor and they usually get him to do it on all of the ones he has in his pocket. They want to see you interact with the children so the visits are never rushed. They are the best doctors we have had.

Try East Portland Pediatric over by Mall 205. They are fantastic and super sweet! They even have after hours appts for us busy moms. My son's favorite doctor is Dr. Skau but they are all wonderful and very caring doctors. Hope this helps/ If nothing else, call around and talk to different staff members. The way they answer the phones and your questions should let you know how they treat their patients.

I also recommend the Broadway Medical Clinic. It's in the Hollywood District. My grandchildren see Dr. Mary Lee Baker. Once in awhile they see a different doctor. For instance tonight my granddaughter saw I don't remember her name but she was great. And what happened is great. I picked up my granddaughter at 4:30. The school nurse recommended that I get her in to see the doctor right away. I called and the nurse said come right in. The clinic closes at 5. We were there by 4:45 and made to feel welcome. Turns out she has a strep infection in her tonsils. She got started on amoxicillin tonight. It's a Friday at 4:30 and they see her immediately. Wow!

Another plus for this clinic is that they are open Saturday mornings. I highly recommend Broadway Medical Clinic.

I have had good luck with Dr. Craig Dunn at Metropolitin pediatrics. I really like the fact that he talks to my daughter through the entire check-up. Asking her questions about how she is feeling and how she takes care of her body. I always get all my questions answered too.
