It works for me, I like honey in my hot tea in the morning anyway, so it was a really easy adjustment for me. There's even e beekeeper about a mile and a half from my house :) I can definitely tell when I haven't had my cup of tea during allergy season.

I've heard this is effective ONLY for pollen allergies, and only for those pollen sources that might actually be included in the honey. My worst allergies are to grass pollen, and bees don't make honey from grass.

I do get fantastic relief from a homeopathic remedy, though. You can do some research on homeopathy online and find the remedy that best fits the sufferer's symptoms. Most remedies are available at your local health food store or online, and usually cost less than $10 to try. Side effects are unlikely. But about 20% of people get no response at all to homeopathy.

My sister had allergies for YEARS and they made her miserable. She started taking local honey in her morning coffee every day and she no longer has them!! She threw out her meds about 8 years ago because she didn't need them any longer. (She used to have to take meds for them all the time just to breathe and so her eyes weren't all watery and puffy.)

So YES, it works. Try it!!

I have no idea what I have, sinus problems, allergies, but I've had them a long time and 2010 was the worst its been. I've been doing the netty pot and two teaspoons of local honey every day for the past two months and no problems. I did cut out all milk products too (big deal for me) so not sure of what is helping, but can't believe how much better I feel!

I eat local raw bees honey about once a week. No more cough attacks for me. I love it! It is natural and it works!

I have had asthma and allergies all my life. I found a report card from grade school that said I missed 42 days.

I haven't tried it but I did speak to someone who did. He said that his allergies were severe and he started taking (I think it was a tablespoon of) local honey every day. His allergies got better, according to him.

Not that well, but then again my allergies are pretty bad and so is the pollen where I live. I just started getting allergy shots (same concept, different delivery system) and am waiting to see how it goes.

We did it for three years and honstly we could not tell a difference in any of us. What helped was having sinus surgery that allowed draining and prevented infections and most allergies. Also, installing a whole-house filter on the hvac unit.

The more local the better. And make sure it's truly raw. Many producers say raw, but it still gets heated and that kills off some of the benefits.

I'm using freeze dried nettles this year and it's helping me. There's a great herbs class at http://www.inspiredabq.com that might help you find some remedies for your allergies.

We eat raw local honey several times a week here. I substitute it alot in place of sugar. It's helped us clear up strep throat, pink eye, pneumonia, all sorts of things, and that's why we started incorporating it into our diets.

We do. We take the bee pollen. Just a pinch in the morning over cereal or something. We've noticed a big difference.

Hi KD,

It was the first step in getting rid of my allergies all together. I used it when we lived in NC. My allergies were so bad that my husband brought me a hot compress in the morning for my eyes so I could get them open. They were actually glued shut every morning from the yucky discharge. After I got things somewhat under control with the honey,I figured out that when proper nutrition actually absorbs in the body the immune system is strong enough to fight off all irritants. I started on an absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex and I know have no symptoms at all. We even have an inside dog....

God bless!

M.
