I loved them, but yes you need to breathe sometimes. I actually stopped leaking after using them for a while. Always take them out and wash them at night, I buy them for all my new mama friends now!
Has anyone ever used the Silicone Lilypadz for/during Breast Feeding?
I loved them, but yes you need to breathe sometimes. I actually stopped leaking after using them for a while. Always take them out and wash them at night, I buy them for all my new mama friends now!
YES!!! They were awesome! They do exactly what they claim to do. I'd definitely buy more than one pair though as they get dirty and you do have to allow them to air dry when you wash them.
I haven't used them for breastfeeding, but I DO use them any time I want to wear a bra without padding so that I don't nip. They are amazing for that!!
Yes. I found them handy for swimming.
I used them everyday with both of my babies!! I absolutely loved them! I recommend them to everyone I know who is pregnant. I recommend going to the actual Lilypadz website and ordering a kit. It comes with their special cleanser and travel wipes.
I should add that I have rather large boobs and they worked great! For me, I preferred having a small silicone cup than a bulky disposable pad that fell out everytime I undid my bra to breastfeed. Also, I would leak quite a bit with the disposable ones. I also didn't like that they would crumple up and show through my bra. The Lilypadz actually push your nipple in and prevent leaking and are virtually invisible through your bra. I will add though, that when your milk first comes in and you are flowing all the time instead of just when you are feeding, the lilypadz will fill up with milk so you either have to be careful when you take them off (else you spill milk all over yourself) or just use disposable ones for the first couple of days.
HTH!!!

Yes - I LOVED them!! I was a giant leaker (like a whole ounce in the morning time). I only wore them at night (they saved my sheets and nightclothes) and then rinsed them off and let myself breathe with the disposable ones during the day (Lansinoh worked best for me) when I was nursing frequently. I did go through 2 pair in the maybe 6 months that I used them. Look around online for the best price.
Yes - for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in - there are NO fancy nursing bras! They worked, but I preferred the regular ones for everyday.
They are fantastic! Just take good care of them and they will last you a very long time. And they only hold a limited amount of milk, so know that they can leak a bit.
I have heard they cause problems.
Boobs need to breathe.
I would think they would be ok for short term use, but that's all.
