I am looking for breast pads that are thin and discreet. I have Lansinoh ones right now and have also tried Gerber and the Avent washable, reusable ones, but I want something that is not bulky and that you can't see the shape of through your clothes. What do you recommend? Also, does anyone recommend those Lily-Padz?
I have the ones by first years I think is the name of them. They are only at Babiesrus but still the same price as any at the other stores. They have lanolin in them. But I found they are my favorite. They stay put and you can not see them thru clothing, which I love!! I also have the Lily- padz but have never used them, nervous I guess. Well good luck.
I used the lily-padz and thought they were fantastic. One pair last about 3 months. After I got the Lily padz, I never used anything else.

I read in a parenting magazine that one M. used a panty liner. she said she cut it in half, and that it worked great b/c you couldn't see it through your shirt, and b/c it's sticky throughout, and stays in place and doesn't move around.

I also recommend the Johnson's disposable pads. They are rounded instead of flat so they don't wrinkle and show like other pads I tried. They are also very absorbant. Now that my supply has gone down (DD is 10 months) and I don't leak all the time, I use the Gerber washable ones.

I didn't like the disposable ones. I never did find one that was neither bulky or discrete. They also always shift in your bra or come unstuck. I used the Lily Padz washable/reuseable and loved them! They never shifted and were very hard to notice. Also, I had trouble with cracked nipples, and the Lily Padz stick directly to the breast and are totally non-abrassive. The disposables rub and caused more irritation. A few people (smaller breasted friends) I know had trouble getting the Lily Padz to stick but all you need to do is rub a little lanolin around the edge and they stay on. I wouldn't even bother with the disposable ones. Lily Padz are the best!!

the only thing that I found that wasn't bulky under a t-shirt were Comfy Cups. Mine are from Von Maur, but they probably sell them other places or online. They're polyester and very absorbent. I'd put the cotton pads inside them.
They wouldn't be the best thing for a large breasted woman because they add to the breast size.

Love the Johnsons & Johnsons ones. They're a bit thick, but I never had a problem showing through. I tried most of the others and always had that problem!

I loved the lily padz. But I have heard that if you leak a lot they do not always stay on. I never had a problem, but I had read others did prior to my purchasing. I am not breastfeeding anymore, but I still use them occasionally when wearing a shirt or dress that may not allow for a bra. The trick is to make sure they are cleaned often and fully dry before putting them on.

I used the Lansinoh pads, as you do, and I loved them. I think I tried every pad on the market and found those to be the best. I also have the Lily-Padz and loved them too. They were great for swimming in the summertime. And I produced A LOT of milk and they still worked great.

i think the best ones are the lansinoh. I spent the $20 on lilypadz and have only used twice since you end up with a puddle of milk caught inside them which is really bad! If you dont leak often they may work for certain bras, but I personally dont think they are worth the money

I used the Gerber washables, but I understand your desire for something more discreet. I was a leaker though and they worked the best for me. I bought a pair of Lily-Padz. Luckily I tested them out at home before wearing them out anywhere. My husband gave me a hug and one popped and I felt warm liquid (milk, obviously) gush down the front of me and through my shirt. It would have been very embarrasing if we were out in public and especially if I had been wearing something nice.
Good Luck,
D.

Johnson & Johnson disposable were my favorite of the ones I tried. They look like Avent, but they're not. With a molded cup bra, you can't see them at all.

Johnsons and Johnsons were my favorite. I tried all disposable brands and they were the only ones that didn't leak through, and even though they are a bit bulky...they didn't show.

I believe it was the Gerber pads that were shaped better so they would wrinkle in your bra, but what I found worked best is to just buy a few lightly lined bras- they hide the outline and wrinkles and everything undesirable that comes with nursing pad territory. And they can also help out a little if you forget the pads!
Good luck!

I love Lily-Padz. I have two sets so when I wash one I have another to wear. I tried all sorts of pads but I found I stuck to some and others were too thick. I am going to use the Lily-Padz when we have number two this fall.

I think when I first started I used the lansinoh ones, but not too long after I changed over to the Johnsons and Johnsons. They are not thin, but they do have a curvature so I feel they are discreet. I had a large milk supply if a feeding was a little late or anything, so they were very absorbant with any leaks.

Hi,
I highly recommend Lily-Padz. They are very discreet, and you rarely experience leaks. You can wash them with soap and water, let them air-dry, and reuse them for months. You just have to be careful when you take them off to nurse/pump, because there might be a bit of milk inside. You can wear them with a bathing suit or even without a bra. I never did either of those, but I did wear them when I went to get a massage. Also, you shouldn't wear them at night, because you need to give your skin a chance to "air out." I never cared about leakage at night, though.
Best,
R.

I highly recommend the Lily-Padz for being the most discrete by far. The issue with them is that you need your nipples to be dry when you replace them after a feeding or pumping so they added more time to my 3 times a day pumping schedule at work. I plan to use them more for times when I am wearing form-fitting tops or lighter weight tops than an every day thing. Also, follow the directions as they require daily washing (I did mine in the evening and set them out to dry) by hand with a dishwashing detergent or something similar to keep their stickiness. If I was more patient, I could use them all the time...but I am not. I end up using the Lansinoh ones most of the time as I leak through the Gerber ones still (even though my baby is 3.5 months old) if I think about him too much! Very frustrating!
Good luck.

Medela, definitely. I tried Avent and J&J - both too bulky. Medela pads lay flat and are wider, so I thought had better coverage and they hid well under clothes. I heard from a friend that Lily Pads were good extra coverage in case you seem to be leaking a lot.
