They're called diaper doublers and I've seen them in the diaper section of Stop & Shop (top shelf). You may want to give them a try! I know they're not that expensive either.
Good luck!
My son is 8 months old and is sleeping from 7 PM until 5 AM. I am convinced that he wakes up at 5 AM because he has leaked through his diaper. He is about 22 pounds and I am using Huggies Overnights. I recently switched from a size 4 to a size 5 for the extra absorbancy, but he is still leaking through. Does anyone have any suggestions extra absorbant night diapers? I hear that there are pads that you can put in the diaper, but I don't know were to find them, or what they are called.

Hi A.. I used to have the same problem with my son. He is now 27 months old. But we switched from Huggies to Pampers and back, from smaller size to bigger size to no avail... Then someone told us to try Kirkland. Costco sells that brand. We haven't had a leaking problem since we switched. They have only up to size 5 and today at almost 30 lbs, that's what we use for him. He is currently potty training and asks to use the bathroom sometimes after he's been put to bed. When we do put the diaper back without him laying down is when we chance the diaper leaking. From not having put it right while he was standing... Hope this helps you the way it's helped me!
Diaper Doublers!! I have seen them at Stop & Shop and Babies R Us. I just use them with Pampers Cruisers and it works great. We actually tried Huggies overnights at one time as well and I thought they were much less absorbent than just the regular Cruisers :) Good luck!
get those pads.. you can find them in the diaper aisle in any store.. they worked for us!
I used pampers for my son...never a leak. i found that when I tried Huggies they always leaked. My son was also the same weight at that age. He used to have the same sleeping pattern as well (7-5).
Perhaps it isn't the wet diaper that is waking him..could just be his sleeping pattern. Try moving his bedtime a little later and maybe over time he'll sleep until 6. This is what I had to do and after several weeks it worked he now sleeps 8-6:30.
does he have a sippy cup/bottle of water in his crib at night? when is his last feeding of the day. I'd try to cut out anymore liquids atleast 2 hours before bedtime. also is he a belly sleeper now? i can tell if my daughter has slept on her belly most of the night - b/c in the morning all the pee is in the front of the diaper - and sometimes her onsie is wet above the diaper line.... vs. if she slept on side/ back the pee is more even through out the diaper. she sleeps from 8PM to 7am (weekdays we wake her up at 7 to get out the door) but weekends she's 8-8 altesat if not sometimes 9.
also i agree w/ the pampers vs. huggies - i've always used pampers and the few times i tried huggies - they leaked.
I am going to offer a very different solution than these other wonderful ladies -- cloth diapers, specifically pocket diapers. I used a brand called fuzzibunz. You get a diaper cover that has a soft fuzzy fleece liner for next to the baby's skin, and a leakproof outer layer. There's an opening, and you stuff an absorbent microfiber towel inside the "pocket," adding all the layers you need until it's absorbent enough. Using the large size towels that came with them (there are small and large ones) the only times we had nighttime leak problems was when it wasn't put on quite right. They do need to be washed, but it's pretty easy and because the towels come out and unfold, they dry quickly. It also saves money in the long run since you reuse them. Of course, cloth diapering may not suit your lifestyle, but it's at least worth considering. My daughter always complains when we put her in the occasional disposable because she says they're not as comfy.
My husband likes to stay up a little late at night, so right before he goes to sleep he changes our 28 mo old and 8 mo old while they are sleeping. 10 hours is an awful long time to expect a diaper to hold all you've put into the little guy.

We have had alot of success with Pampers swaddlers and now we use crusers my son is 14mo now..but he is super skinny....I think that if you use a diaper thats to big it will leak...the swaddlers are awesome..the cruisers are better once they start walking

When my son was that age, I had the same problem. And I used the Huggies Nighttime diapers and he would most often leak through those. Just make sure he isnt drinking too close to bed time and change his diaper just as he is getting into bed, but I'm sure you do all that.
The only other thing I found was this.......... Do you put any kind of diaper cream on him? I use vaseline on my kids after diaper changes, and I came to realize that the vaseline at nighttime was creating a barrier that was not allowing the diaper to absorb the pee. So after I realized that, I use a very, very small amount of vaseline before the nighttime diaper. Then the leaks came few and far between. So if you are using a cream, maybe you can use minimal at night, or none at all?
One more thing....... Currently, my daughter is 22mo old, and I use LUVS round the clock for her. Her diaper is FILLED with pee in the morning, yet it doesnt leak at all...And she too sleeps 7pm to 5-6am So just another option for ya?
Best of Luck
We had the same problem with our son. I used a great product called "Diaper Doublers" that absorbed all the excess. I had never heard of it before but someone else told me about them. Its basically just a scaled down maxi-pad for babies, LOL! As a matter of fact, a few times I had run out of Diaper Doublers and guess what I had to use, haha. (My husband didnt find it nearly as amusing!)
Good luck!
Stop and Shop has the pads you mentioned. They are called Diaper Doublers and they work great. But if you can't find them just go buy some pads that you would for your period. Just get the "heavy" flow ones and stick them in his diaper. They would probably work just the same. I have heard boys leak a lot more. Sometimes it isn't the diaper, it can be just the direction he is urinating. Good luck!
