So What Happened?

My daughter was born in April 2008 and when I was pregnant I felt horrible. I thought Feb 29th was an extra day to be pregnant and miserable. I know it really did count towards my due date but it sure didn't feel like it at the time.

My husband runs my office and didn't tell me, but didn't schedule any work for me because, "it's a day that doesn't exist."

I told him to book appointments since we are leaving on vacation Friday for a week, so we need to pay the bills while we are gone. Otherwise, today would be a hooky day. LOL

I've never done anything special for leap day before, but today I decided to pack my kids a "junk lunch" and included a note telling them to enjoy it since it will only happen once every four years! I gave them chips, cookies, some mini donuts, and some candy (with an applesauce so I didn't feel like a complete jerk). Normally they would only get this stuff in very small rationed portions. I'm half expecting a call from the nurse this afternoon about some tummy aches.

I used it as an excuse to have the kids practice their 4 times tables.... Then of course we ended up with the 7 times tables to calculate dog years....

WooHoo big fun! LOL!

Well, I'm not leaping, but I think I'll go work out. That's close. And one of my daughters and her husband are attending an eleventh birthday party for a man born forty-four years ago today. I think laser tag is on the docket.

i would love to do something fun, but after our night last night(no sleep due to post-op doberman), not a chance... my husband, who is salaried, refers to this as the day he "works for free" lol

It has been a weird day so far at work, odd things happening and can't type today since my fingers don't seem to want to work right. And it is 60 degrees almost!! Not doing anything special, just making shrimp fried rice for dinner and then back to cleaning the basement.

I don't care but guess I would if I'd been born on this day or had a child/family member born on it. Selfish I guess.
