My daughter recently began sleeping on her stomach thru the night and in the morning is wetting thru her diaper, onesie and swaddle in the front. We've tried ensuring the diaper is tight and high in the front before putting her to bed but its still leaking out the top. We're using size 2 pampers swaddlers diapers (she's almost 14 lbs). Any suggestions?
I swear by Luvs. I had very few leaks with my toddler with them, and my 8 week old has yet to leak thru them. Give them a try, and they're much cheaper!!

I used to use swaddlers too and they leaked at night. So I switched to Kirkland diapers from Costco which are comparable to Huggies supreme. I would try those just for the night. They really hold the pee. If those don't work they sell overnight diapers but I am not sure if they come in size 2. I also think that I saw some diaper liner pads you can put in the diaper for nighttime to stop leakage at Osco. But I swear by the Kirkland/huggies supreme. I used both of those for my daughters and never leaked.
Go up a size and try Pampers Baby Dry. She probably does not need the swaddlers anymore, as she is learning to move around more.
I foung it helpful to double diaper with a bigger size on top. Also, you might want to ask your pediatrician about continuing to swaddle if your baby is already turning over.
I had the same issue with my twins when they started sleeping through the night (oftening turning onto their stomachs) around 5 months. I tried switching brands, using a bigger diaper, etc. but they always seemed to soak through them. Finally, a friend recommended double diapering with a larger diaper on top - i.e. size 3 over a size 2. It worked great! They would often soak through the first diaper and the second diaper could be re-used (was usually just a little wet in the front) in the morning so you're not wasting it. Hope this helps!
We had the same issue. Now we always put her in a diaper one size larger than what she wears during the day...never had a problem again.
Hi, I would try to loosen the diaper. The urine needs to go somewhere and if the diaper is too tight it will come out of the sides. My daughter is 18 months old now and she leaks sometimes because of the pressure when her diaper is too tight. Just like a sponge having water inside, then when you squeeze it the water comes out. Or you can buy diaper covers but I don't know if they come in that size. I hope what ever you try works and good luck, everyday is a mircale... ;o)
I would try going up a size in diapers. The bigger size will hold more and you can still tighten it well around the waist. They also make "Overnight" diapers, in a purple wrapping, that will hold tons more liquid. Plus, they run slightly bigger so you might be able to get by in 2s with those as well, but they might not make them that small (you'd have to try 3s anyway).

PS when my 3 year old was a toddler and leaking like that every night, I found some fuzzi bunz cloth diapers with extra inserts worked to keep him dry overnight (this was before I knew about the overnight disposables, but they are really nice and don't give them a rash!)
I would definitely switch to a larger diaper. I believe Swaddlers has a 2-3. If not, just switch to 3. They will be big but they won't leak. I know my peditrican is all about putting them in larger diapers anyway so it's not so tight on their tummies. I don't go by weight as much as I go by leakage. If they start leaking, I move up to the next size.
Also, the onesies might be the problem also. I find that onesies push the diaper & then they leak!

You could switch to a bigger diaper for nightime, one that fits up a little high. My daughter went up the sizes pretty quickly because she was so chunky. Don't be afraid to go bigger, it's always easier than a too small diaper. Also if she's a good sleeper you can change her before you go to bed. My Doc recommended this and it worked well for us. A quick 11pm change did wonders and my son always slept through it. Now we even wake him to go by himself (he's been trained for a while) after he's gone to sleep and he goes right back to bed no worries.

You might try experimenting with different diapers and/or size of diapers. We had trouble with our daughter's diaper leaking, but we found out that Pampers makes 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 diapers for in between diaper sizes. She had the least leaky diapers when we switched to Luvs Diapers. They can be hard to find--some stores don't carry Luvs. It's easiest to buy the smallest count package of various diaper brands and see what works best for your little one. Good luck.
