I am not officially an LC, but I am an RN who works in a newborn nursery and float to lactation; it is my passion. I have two children of my own, 3 yr old daughter and 1 year old son, and I breastfed both of them for 15months and 14months. My biggest advice to you is to breastfeed "on demand", or every 2 hours while you are in the hospital, keep your infant with you as much as possible and do lots of "skin to skin" with your infant. Try not to stress about it; it will be easier the second time around, mostly because you know what to expect with a newborn and you are not so scared you are going to break him/her. Ask the nurse in the hospital for the number to an LC in the area, if you need anymore assistance after discharge. Oh, and read a breastfeeding book; there is a lot more to know about breastfeeding than most people think and the more you know, the better you'll be.
