My almost 12 y/o daughter received a Kindle Fire for Christmas. She is pretty responsible for her age. i would like to get a cover for the Kindle Fire. Can anyone recommend one they have actually purchased, used, and pleased with. I don't want to spend a lot on it, but would like for it to be durable. TIA

What can I do next?

Search Amazon for Kindle Fire Sleeve. We got one of the ones by BUILT, it's working out just fine so far. If you're looking for something that is more of a case that stays on, search for Kindle Fire Cover.

I have a regular Kindle, but got the cover at Target (they also have covers for other Kindles and pads.) They are about $30 there and I did see some at office supply stores, but they tended to run a little more $$. I'm pretty sure the covers at Amazon run about the same too!

I just ordered one similar to this one in pink.

I haven't used it yet, but I liked the secure features better then some on Amazon.

My husband bought me a Kindle Fire plus cover from Amazon for Christmas (he pre-ordered it, so when it became available in early Nov., it shipped, and he gave it to me then, so I've actually had it over a month now). I *think* he spent about $50 on the cover (leather), and I really like it. It's sturdy, and can be folded/bent in such a way as to prop it up in a horizontal/landscape position so you can watch videos like on a TV screen or monitor w/o holding it.

This is probably more than you want to spend (and if *I* had been buying, I would have gotten a cheaper one and taken my chances), but I can say that the leather cover from Amazon is sturdy and seems quite durable so far, though honestly, I've only had it a month so I don't consider that enough time to judge of its long-term durability, and whether it's truly worth the money. However, since the Fire has only been available for less than two months, I don't think anybody can truly say whether it's durable enough for the money.

I would suggest getting a cheap one and seeing how that works (unless others chime in and say that cheap *really* means "cheap"), and if it doesn't, you can always upgrade in another few months or so.

If you don't mind waiting for a shipment from China; I bought a leather cover, pen and screen protector for a kindle fire on Ebay. My purchase was $1.99 plus $7 for shipping. I received in about 10 days.
