S.J.
and THIS is why I hate being a working mom.
I never get to put my feet up!
But if I did - I would have to say my indulgence would be a bubble bath.
Right now I'm watching a "chick flick", with my feet up and on the internet.
Dinner is in the crock pot. I already ran a few errands this morning. So right now - I'm SITTING!

I shopped alone.
I breezed in. I lingered in the card isle. IN THE CARD ISLE!! It was heavenly. No little fingers bringing me a million little cards I don't need with cute kitty eyed pictures. I shopped for groceries at my own super-speed-walking pace. No little bored tired feet to slow me down. I checked out with no stress at the register over gum and candy bars. I bet the cashier thought I was nuts with all the smiling I was doing. Then I breezed out, lighter than air.
It was marvelous!
WHEN my kids go back to school in 12 days and wake up? HHHHMMMM...I think I will go back to bed and sleep or watch a movie...
The rest of the week will be about disassembling every room and cleaning it from top to bottom since my whole summer has been messed up with ALL of my men under my feet!!!
I'm a working mom, so my daughter going back to school doesn't change anything for me, unfortunately! BUT, if I did have regular kid-free time, I would definitely get back into the gym more often and I would also watch more chick-flicks or go to the park/a coffeehouse, just to sit and read uninterrupted! :-)
The first day back, my very active 8 year old came home and immediately crashed in the living room. And slept ALL NIGHT. He didn't even want to wake up for dinner!
I've learned from that one: Kids need snacks right when they get home. In case they don't stay awake! ;o)
Anyhow, I'm in the military, and a working, single mom...but my indulgence is watching Mad Men on Netflix!
My oldest will be starting first grade...full time school...woohoo! Now, I will get my chance to spend more time with my little guy and hopefully change some of his bad habits by spending more mommy and tot time. Yes, that may sound odd, but it's an indulgence that I am looking forward to.
Getting up at seven instead of six.
I read labels in the supermarket, and concentrated on what I actually needed to get, instead of running through b4 kids get bored.
I am playing zuma blitz
Eating pringles and muddy buddies.
It is short lived though, as I go back to school full time on Monday, but I have enjoyed the HELL out of this week. I think if my kids were all at school, and I was home all day... I would be bored! It is nice short term though
I got a donut, did some deep cleaning, watched a movie and enjoyed every single second. I can't wait to do some more cleaning tomorrow.
