Sleep in. Have someone else do dishes and make dinner and clean up after that. Also want to sit around crocheting without any pain and without anyone asking me for this or that or talking my ear off about politics!
What do you like to do on your birthday? What would make the perfect birthday for you?

A movie at a theater, pizza for supper and carrot cake.
Since my birthday is day after Christmas it's nice to do something un holiday related.
this reminds me of the joke
A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off, he asked what she’d like as a gift. “I’d like to be eight again,” she replied, still looking in the mirror.
On the morning of her birthday, he rose early, made her a nice big bowl of Coco Pops, and then took her to Adventure World theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was.
Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald’s where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake.
Then it was off to a movie, with popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&Ms. What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed, exhausted.
He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, "Well dear, what was it like being eight again?"
Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed.
"I meant my dress size, you idiot!!!!"
The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong"

Any time I can get with my family? That's a special day for me!! I'm a March baby so trying to do something like Disneyland or World would be iffy if it was raining....
I do NOT like breakfast in bed. NO WAY!!
Family. Being with my family and friends - that is an awesome birthday to me!
Go camping! I usually research an awesome place and we go with friends. The last one was a campsite at an alpine lake up in CO. We drove there on a Friday and came home Sunday. The lake was an incredible shade of turquoise, we fished for trout and went hiking on the continental divide trail. Friends joined us and we made some amazing food around the campfire. The kids had a blast.
I like to go out for brunch (we have lovely place in cute little picturesque town that makes lovely waffles with fresh fruit and the best coffee). I don't need a lot - usually I like a nice shrub for my garden, a new artist type mug (lover of coffee), and I like steak for my supper.
Sometimes my side of the family joins us which is lovely too :)
ETA: Suz that inn looks amazinnnnng! How fun :)
Great question and have enjoyed reading all the moms' answers today
if I could sleep in past 530AM!! I would love it. My natural awake clock is 530. If I could sleep to maybe 730??!?! that would be GREAT!!!
I'd love to go out to breakfast...and while I'm gone? the house be cleaned!! LOL! It's not bad..but I'd love to have someone else clean the bathrooms and kitchen!! All my kids are grown so it's just me and my husband.
Any way, I'd like to go somewhere. Not sure where. But maybe the beach? Not really sure. I just want to spend the day with my loved ones.
Go hiking with my family with a picnic lunch.
my 60th is coming up! we'd hoped to take a Big Trip (italy or greece) but can't swing it this year with our younger getting married, so that'll be next year hopefully.
for this year, all i really want is some thumping good chinese takeout and better fencing for my paddock, but not sure we can afford much with the fencing either.
i might ask for a sleepover at https://innboonsboro.com/ with my bestie.
but what i really like on my birthdays is to a) see my kids b) not do any cooking c) have time to do whatever i feel like, most likely taking my mare for a ride and d) getting left alone for at least part of it.

Hi Neighbor! I am in Plano/Allen, not far from you!
I am low key and I don't like a big deal made of my birthday. I appreciate family time.
Fun question! My birthday is always within a few days of Mother's Day so that's a nice guaranteed celebration with my extended family and takes the pressure off of my kids trying to do anything on my actual birthday to make it special. This frees me up to do something with friends instead if I want to. On a busy workday, I just like simple things like buying lunch instead of brown-bagging it and going out for ice cream after dinner. If it's not so busy, I try to get dinner or drinks with friends that night.
Like J.B.'s, my birthday is close enough to Mother's Day and seeing my family, that my birthday is usually quiet. But for me the correct answer to any question about what I would like to do remains the same. Go to the beach!
Pretty simple stuff, sleep in and not have to cook/clean are a must!!! Other than that it varies by year. Zoo, hiking/picnic, camping, some cool event etc, something with family, depends what's going on, what day of the week, how the weather is etc. I'm May 1st, so close to Mother's Day too. Ive done big things for my 30th and 35th - rented dune buggy, stuff like that.
My perfect birthday would be it to fall on the weekend so that we can go to our favorite beach here in Costa Rica to stay for at least 2 nights. Not have to cook and instead enjoy the fresh seafood and fresh fruits and veggies by the shore. I would spend the day barefoot and in my bikini just under a palm tree or soaking up the sun and during the sunset go with my husband to watch the sun go down with a bottle of wine. Perfection!
I like to be relieved of all my household duties for the day so that I can enjoy cocktails all day long and pursue whatever amusements I choose.
Not cook. That's the best part.
I like to go out to eat for lunch or dinner.
It's nice to have someone cook my food then take the dishes away and wash them. :)
We have gone on hikes and long walks. Love those.
I just had a really nice birthday last week. The kids and I met up with a bunch of friends at my favorite forest preserve. A friend gave me morels, and my husband cooked me a lovely, lovely dinner. My birthday is usually on or the day before or after mother's day. We were in the habit of going to the Zoo with my parents, but I decided last year that I didn't want to do that anymore. We had a family dinner the night before mother's day this year, and that was good enough. This year's bday would have only been nicer if my husband didn't have to work. But spending the day in the woods with friends and having a nice dinner was close to perfect.
When I can, I like to take the day off and weather permitting I love to go for a long walk on my own on a nature area and then treat myself to something like a massage or pedicure or movie; something to do solo and then I go out and eat with my kids.
The most important part of having a pleasant birthday for me is to manage my expectations, I've learned a long time ago that just because I try to make birthdays special for others (my children, my ex-husband when I was married, etc.) does not mean they will do the same for me, hence, I've learned to really enjoy activities on my own and are just thrilled if they come along without making faces or having an attitude.
