Help Chear Me Up!! The girls at work are all comparing best and worst gifts ever. Office winners....
Worst goes to Jeannie. She was given, on the 1st Valentine's Day of her marriage, Chicken Poop Chap Stick.
Best goes to Yadira. She was given an $8,000 diamond ring and ring guard this morning.
My own personal best - in college my ex-husband gave me a heart shaped candle and a cd of "love makin" music! That was a great Valentine's Day. Worst was also my ex-husband. Not long after the divorce he called on Valentine's Day and accused me of being on drugs (because he couldn't understand my logic) and threatening to take my daughter away! Jerk! I can take it, but he made my baby cry.

What can I do next?

Best V-day gift: he had a tow package installed on my pathfinder while I was on a mini-vaca with my sister.
Worst: he actually put cash in my card and said "I didn't know what to get you".

Chicken poop!!? HAHA! That is hilarious.

I honestly have never gotten a bad gift from my hubby. He always puts sooo much thought into anything he gets for me, he is a researcher and makes sure to get the best for the best price.

Best gift would have to be my engagement ring - it was very pricey, but even beyond that it is unbelievably gorgeous. I knew the sacrifices he had to make to get me that gorgeous ring. I have never owned anything so nice and it is nice to be so proud to show it off, knowing especially the thought he put into it. He had it custom made.

I must be odd, because when my hubby gets me things like vacuum cleaners or aprons it doesn't bother me at all. He is doing it because he knows I need those things, and like always, he puts a lot of thought into it. What does bother me is the fact that he never uses either himself! LOL!

My husband and I really don't do presents. But when I read your question I thought about a couple of my birthdays.

For my 40th, (several years ago) he asked me if I wanted a party or to do something. All I said to him was NO surprise parties! His male brain interpreted that as nothing and so thats what we did, nothing!

BUT he more than redeemed himself the following year. He asked again what I wanted to do and I burst into tears. It was chemo week for my mom and I had to put one of my dogs asleep. He made arrangements with his mom to keep the kids over night. Took me to my favorite restaurant and let me pick out anything I wanted (within reason) at a jewelry store. I wanted to go see some artsy movie and as we pulled into the theatre parking lot I told him I had had a wonderful evening so far and we could just go home so he could watch then end of the basketball game. *My birthday is the end of March, during the height of the college basketball "March Madness". Anyway, he said it was my birthday and he promised me the movie and turned off the car no knowing if his favorite team made it into the championship game!

Wish I could cheer you up, but I'm not feeling very cheerful right now.

This morning, a heart shaped box of chocolates....
1. I don't care to celebrate Valentine's day, today was unusual because we had to bring FIL to the airport, and made arrangements to have lunch. So that would be my gift.
2. I'm diabetic
3. I've been trying to loose weight, I was doing great, but during the past 2 months I've gained some back
4. Yes, I like chocolate and do have my cravings. But I don't really care for the boxed ones. A bag of lindt chocolates, I'd be smiling.

Worst: A tarot deck from a guy I dated. I told him I didn't want to see him anymore, and he gave me the tarot cards and asked me to consult them.... The lovely amusing part is, on a whim, I did (after I broke up with him), (I asked what the future held if I continued to see him), and the card that turned up....."The Tower" (which means "cataclysm" or "upheaval", or sometimes disaster).

The best was a gift to myself, a book called "To Bless The Space Between Us." I'd buy a copy of this book for everyone I know, if I had the money.

worst: 2nd year of marriage. a new stove, already installed, w/ a big red bow and him sitting there with a grin. 'so now you can cook a real dinner!' ...
i didn't touch it for 3 weeks! I was so pissed! yes we needed a new stove. we had been talking about replacing it within that month. but that was ALL he got me. no flowers. no candy. nothing that said 'love'

best gift: in 2005 Ford restyled the Mustang. I was drooling from the first pics. I would buy magazines just so I could stare at that car. then as a gift to myself, I took the week before my birthday off. he surprised me by renting me a 2005 Mustang for the week. Cherry red! It was great!

Worst: A month after Vday a couple of years ago I got mine and my hubbys cell phone bill of $600! I was 8 months preg and we had not given gifts that year bc we were broke. After looking over the bill and making some angry phone calls I realized that on Vday my hubby looked at $500 worth of naked girl pics on his phone! Happy Valentine's to him, right! Needless to say after he came home to me crying he sincerly apologized and threw out every dirty mag he had!
Best: It was actually a pretty simple gift last Christmas. Several months before Christmas I had knocked a pic frame off the wall that held several family photos. I loved it and it broke and was thrown out. I was very upset but went a head and rearranged my pictures so you couldn't tell a frame was missing. For Christmas my hubby gave me a replacement. He said he had searched for the exact one but they didn't make them anymore so he found one that was very close. I had tears in my eyes bc I was so happy that he had noticed how upset I was and actually remembered months later!
Another worst: I told my husband I wanted to have a bday party and he said he would take care of it. On my bday we went to his parents house where his g-ma was celebrating her bday. His mom had planned a party for her and he asked if she would put my name on the cake too!
Whew, men! What are we gonna do with them!! :)

Well this could be considered best and worst. My exhusband and I have a knock-out-drag-out fight and I declared the end of our marriage. When I woke up in the morning, he, and some of his stuff was gone.
I felt crappy at the time, but looking back it was a pretty awesome gift. LOL.
My current SO and I don't go all out, but I like what he usually gives me. A small box of chocolates.
