my 25 month old slept with us until he was about 10 months old, and even then he was all over the place! My poor husband ended up sleeping on the couch most nights because of it (thats when i decided it was due time for my baby babe to head to his own crib). One night we put his crib up to teh side of ours in a sidecar arrangement, and he wanted nothing to do with that. He woke up and angrily pouted and started charging/crawling over to my husband. Then when he realized it wasn't Me, he screamed and turned around then started charging at me. He would wake up every 30 minutes jsut to make sure i was still there! Nobody was sleeping haha
A couple weeks ago he started having nightmares and one sleepless night we decided to just bring him to our bed. oh.my.gosh. It was awful! He would wake up and scream "WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?" whenever one of us would move (and I have our 4 month old in bed with us now, so whenever i adjusted myself to nurse her he would flip out). After a few hours I took her downstairs and we slept on the couch (she's a really good and snuggly sleeper). When I went upstairs to wake my husband up, he had our boy's toes up his nose and and was holding on for dear life in the top corner of the bed. Coper had flippped himself upside down and had his whole body sprawled across the bed. My hubby said he kept ramming his head into the wall all night too. It's cute to know he still does his "head for the hills!" act in his sleep like he did when he was a baby. He used to just started climbing over the pillows right into the wall when he slept with us before, and he still does it! haha
My mom has 13 grandkids between my siblings and I, and she has 2 spend the night every weekend. When it was my son's turn (baby's still too small), I set up a pack 'n play for him at the end of her bed and she was offended because she was sure he would rather sleep with her like all the other kids do. The next morning when I went to pick him up, her hair was all frazzled and she looked like she hadn't slept in months...I guess Cooper kept climbing into her windows (at the top of her bed) then getting mad and screaming. Eventually he begged her to just put him in the crib at the end of the bed and he slept soundly the rest of the night. Kids are crazy!!
