Juicing Question

My cousin in California thinks I should invest in a Champion Juicer to improve my health. Before I spend that kind of money, I'd like to know if I can stand the taste. Is there anything on the market on the vegetable juice aisle or elsewhere that I can sample that is similiar?

What can I do next?

Carrot juice is often the most palatable at first. You can pick up a bottle of Odwalla or Bolthouse farms. I think the latter is available at Super Target. There are other brands as well. It won't taste quite the same as most of the bottle veggie juices are pasteurized. Whole Foods makes their own unpasteurized ones. I prefer the carrot, beet, ginger combo, but they have plain carrot and various green combinations, as well. I recommend you start out with carrot at home and then gradually add greens. Your tastes will adjust. I make a combo of carrot, beet (including the greens), cilantro, dandelion, parsley, ginger at home on a regular basis.

Go to a health food store where they have a snack bar. They usually have fresh juices you can taste.

If you do go for a juicer, it should come with a "recipe book." Once I went through all the recipes with mine, I started experimenting. Never, Ever juice a grapefruit and pineapple together--the acid will be too much for your body to bear! I had an upset stomach for days, along with fever blisters and skin eruptions. Can you say Eeeew!
