Hi. My hubby and I recently purchased a juicer (Jack Lalanne Power Juicer) . Do you have a favorite fruit and/or veggie juice recipe that you love? I've also heard you can use the pulp that's extracted in cooking and baking. Does anyone know about that? It seems like such a waste to throw that away each time when I'm sure it's packed with vitamins.

Thank you so much!!

What can I do next?

I usually make a green juice which is super healthy and, believe it or not, tasty too. It usually consists of:

Romaine Lettuce or Kale
Cilantro, Parsley or Watercress
Lemon
Ginger Root
Apple

After I juiced the fruits and veggies, I usually add some cold water to it to dilute it and add a splash of cayenne pepper to it also.

This is what I usually do but you can pretty much make up your own concoction and will probably end up with great tasting juice no matter what. As for the pulp, you can add it to pancakes, muffins, omlettes, spaghetti sauce. Or, if you are a gardner, you can try composting it.

Hope this gives you some inspiration. Have a wonderful day.

Hi--
Can you still take it back? We had a juicer and it is such a pain to clean and you waste so much that once the novelty wore off we never used it. I would recommend a vitamixer instead--it liquefies whatever you put into it so you get all the fiber and nutrients in the whole fruit or vegetable.

If not, apple lemon juice, apple carrot, V8 type juice--all good.

I've used this juicer for years. Mainly I combined veggies and fruits. It's about the only way to get me to "eat" veggies. But it's no special 'recipe', just get some veggies and start juicing. I started with carrots and apples. Then I added more of fruits and greens. Red leaf lettuce is great. Celery is good for you. Lemon juice is good for the liver.

The pulp you can use and get more of the nutrients. I put some of them in with some meat I put in the oven to cook.. You get a double win-win in that it flavors the meat, and you again reap the beneficial nutrients of the juicing.

I had a previous juicer that twice broke down due to inadequate soldering. Jack LaLanne is reputable. He passed away in January at a ripe old age due to good dieting and health. I used to exercise with my mom to his show before going to kindergarten. So his name IS a good endorsement for a product. And it is NOT difficult to clean. One in a while I would put the hard plastic parts in a bucket of bleach water to get some of the staining out. That's bound to happen with this. I use beets, and that will stain anything.
By the way, any time possible I would get to Whole Foods and get the golden beets.
