My friend has a Bob jogging stroller and really likes it.

My son is 5 and weighs 40 lbs. I have recently taken up running and he will be home with me for the summer. I do not have a jogger and I want to get a good one so that I do not give up running once summer hits. My problem is that most strollers have a 50lb weight limit. I do not want to spend the money when he will only outgrow it in 10 lbs. He is a slow grower, but I would prefer one that has the capacity for 70 lbs. Does anyone know of any good strollers that would be worth the money? Any advice would be SO helpful! I want a stroller that has a locking swivel wheel so that I can still use it other places such as the park or zoo.
Thanks for all the great feedback! I left out that I am a single mom and so there isn't much possibility of me having someone watch him daily for me to run. I ended up getting the Bob Revolution which has a weigh limit of 70lbs. I ordered it, so it's in transit. I think it will be worth the money and I'm excited for my new found running hobby to continue! Thanks again, I loved hearing all the ideas that everyone had! :-)

Definitely get a BOB Revolution. Yes it is expensive but worth the money. With a older child you definitely want something that will have excellent maneuverability and durability. I have a Duallie and have run with my 25 pound infant and my 40 pound 4 year old. That's a lot to push! I have to go a little bit slower but it makes the workout more challenging.
If worse comes to worse and you can't find a stroller to fit your needs, you could always run first thing in the morning or run in the evening?
**A BOB Revolution has a weight limit of 70 pounds. The Duallie is 100 pounds.
I'm pretty sure the weight limit on the BOB is 50 pounds. I saw this one in a magazine that can hold up to 75 pounds: Baby Jogger Summit 360 Single Jogging Stroller.
The Baby Jogger Summit has a 75 lb limit. This stroller gives you the flexiblity to decide whether you want a swival wheel or it locks in place. I have had mine a month and I am very happy!
Glad to hear that you have taken up running! It is such a great stress reliever. I just wanted to throw out another thought. I have 4 kids and have always enjoyed running. When they got to be about your son's age, they would ride their bike with me on runs. If you can find roads that aren't busy or a bike trail it works great. Stop at the park or playground and he can play and you can get some sit-ups, push-ups and stretching in. Otherwise, you can always get creative to get your run in early in the am or swap child care with a friend so you can run. Frankly, I can't get in a rhythmn pushing a stroller. Good luck finding a stroller that will work (sorry, no advise there b/c i never had one) Whatever you do, don't give up running/exercising!! you will feel so much better! :)
