Jogging Stroller Advice - Brooklyn,MI

We have a Kidarooz bike trailer that is also a stroller. It fits two small kids and has a handlebar for pushing that can be taken off if you attach it to the bike. We do use it for biking sometimes, but it has been to the park for walks and hikes on dirt trails many a time. The front wheel is removable for biking as well. The two main wheels are large in diameter, which really makes for easy pushing. Much easier than a standard stroller. It doesn't really get smaller, so that isn't a plus for your wants, though. It is moderately lightweight and has rear wheel locks. We have been very pleased with our purchase, although I think it was more that what your price range is. Just another option, though. I have a Jeep Brand Jogging stroller. It does not have the swivel front wheel, so if you need to make a sharp turn, you have to pull down on the handle bars to slightly lift the front wheel. Otherwise, you turn it by shifting it's weight from side to side for smoother turns. It isn't too terribly heavy, but also doesn't fold super tiny either due to the larger jogging wheels. There is a large basket to hold all of the necessities too! I think if it had a swivel wheel on the front (and I think they offer one now), it would be perfect!

We have the baby trend, you can swivel the front tire or not. I does not fold that flat, but you can easily take off the wheels for a flatter fold. (we have done that on vacation in order to take it with us). We like it, it rides nice over grass, woodchips and we have done some mild terriane with it. It was about $100 at target.

BabyTrend makes some nice inexpensive joggers. There is a model with a large stationary wheel (best if you're actually going to job because it's more stable for high speeds) and another very similar model with a slightly smaller swivel wheel that can lock easily.

For what you've mentioned, I'd recommend one with a wheel that can swivel or lock when you need it to. For getting around the zoo and shopping, you'll be glad for the maneuverability of a swivel wheel. The BabyTrend I have now folds easily although you've got the wheel height to contend with, but if you need it to get into a smaller trunk or whatever, you can pop the wheels off with the quick release in about ten seconds.

I have the baby trend jogging stroller that came with a car seat for infant use as well. (you can get it without the carseat). Love it on rough or smooth terrain. I don't jog with it but use it ALL the time whenever I am out, we ( me and my 2 year old) walk alot. I've never used an umbrella stroller. I like the space underneath to carry bags and it's easy to use. It has the option for both locked and swivel front wheel as well as two locks on the back wheels to keep stroller stationary if needed. You want the option to lock the front wheel. If you move fast and jog with it the front wheel wobbles and is not sturdy so you need the lock on it to keep it sturdy. It basically folds in half easily to stow. I have an SUV so I don't have trouble. We go to the zoo often and I took it with us to Disney World when my girl was 9 months old. The seat reclines for naps as well. I see many people with this model. Very easy to use on dirt paths or bad and rocky sidewalks. I have not used it on hills.
