Hello Mama's,
As I was looking through old pic's from our past Thanksgiving dinner's I rembered the best part about the holidays in general...FAMILY! I love it! It also brings back childhood memories. This year i'm going to be having Thanksgiving again at our house...I love waking up in the morning and getting all the food ready, buying fresh flowers that match our table setting, having our three children in the kitchen and helping us prepare our feast. So what are your plan's this year? Whats your favorite part about Thanksgiving?? I would love to hear about all of your plans....I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Always rember to be thankful for everything god has blessed you with!

The food and the family.
We always play ball outside in the backyard with the kids while the husbands clean up after dinner (mom's do most of the cooking, the boys clean up).
Games inside and a movie that night, either at home, or if there is a good family flick we take the kids to it.

I have fond memories of Thanksgiving as a kid. We would always go over to my Grandma's house. We'd come in and the whole house would smell so good! I always sat at the kiddie table :) My favorite part was when we were all done eating, we'd gather around the table, eat pumpkin pie and play "UNO" (and my grandma would cheat!)

I like the cooking other than that nothing. We normally go to DH's parents house 3 hrs away which is dirty, smelly and there's no room for us to stay so we have to spend lots of money on a hotel. This year he finally talked his parents into coming to our house. I can't wait for them to leave and they aren't even here yet.

We are going to my parents'. It is a short drive. I can't wait. :)
They host every year, no questions asked. They love it. It is so wonderful because my husband and I are so busy both working FT and raising a family. I don't have to worry about a thing....just enjoy.
My favorite part, I think, is Thanksgiving morning.
The anticipation of the day....waking up and putting the Macy's Parade on....the cheesy musical numbers and the awesome floats....etc.
My parents always buy chocolates and things as appetizers so we munch on those while the turkey is being cooked....the yummy smells. :)
Sitting down in at the special dining room table...etc.
LOVE Thanksgiving. Thanks for the thread. :)
I hope you and yours have an excellent holiday!

I really loved going to the families house. We haven't been able to do that for the past couple years though because we live across the country. The year before last my poor husband had to spend Christmas alone....but I digress.

This year, we are just spending it at home. My husband likes this a little better because he hates turkey! So we pick something really special and fix it. Last year we got a really expensive cut of steak, I learned how to fix the green beans his mom makes, and I made an awesome pumpkin cake. We will probably do something similar. Honestly without the family gathering, I am neither here not there about it. :(

I like to serve people food, not sure why. I also love it when our little family gets to sit around a dinner and chat.

We have done Thanksgiving at our house for about 6 years now and, I think the thing I love most other than being with family is LEFTOVERS! After everyone leaves, we watch Christmas movies and start decorating our house for Christmas while eating leftovers. :) I just LOVE the Holidays! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!!!

Hot Chocolate, a comforter, a pile of my kids around me and the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade and reading the paper. Love being with my extended family later too but really like this down time.

Thanksgiving is my weekend off. Kids go with their dad to ex-in-laws. One year I had my single unattached girlfriends over for Thanksgiving dinner, potluck style. We were 4 kid-less women who were used to fixing a big thanksgiving in earlier times. Talk about having way WAY too much food!

Dallas Cowboys Football! As AMerica's team, We always play on Thanksgiving.

My family - We laugh our tail ends off the whole day. When I get with my brothers it's nonstop teasing each other. Noone is immune.

Of course the food is great, but my favorite part about the food is what the young ones bring. I love to see my teenager concoct a brocoli cheese casserole to be proud of and the younger sils- I love seeing what they bring. It's like mixing of cultures. They add new dishes we wouldn't have necessarily thoguht of. Of course, my dill hole brothers bring chips or ice! lol

I love Thanksgiving! We have two at our house, the real holiday with family, members of both mine and my husband's. Then on Friday, we have a big leftover dinner with our friends. It has gotten so big, we make an extra turkey for it!

When I was young and still in my parent's home, my favorite part was my Mom's cooking. Her cornbread dressing, collard greens, potato salad, sweet potato pies and pineapple coconut cake. Those were the good days. Now I still enjoy everyone's cooking and being with family, but it isn't Mom's.

Honestly...I like the leftovers!

I have not been let in on the plans yet. I assume we will have a big old family dinner and I will bring the potatoes because I always bring them. There will be two turkeys. Both of which will be dry. It will be hot as hell in the house and the kids will be loud and wild.

I'm in a sour mood today so I'm being negative. I have great memories of helping my grandmother cook for Thanksgiving. I miss those days.
