I tell everybody this is my "life song". Love it. Especially LOVE it when my 23yo is playing it on his guitar!
2 sons, age 14 & 23.....oh, yeah! This is MY song! & yes, it's my generation.....I'm 48 & still have the original 33lp of it.

I would probably say for me (I'm the tail end of the baby boomers) it would have to be CSNY's "Woodstock". It represents a generation that sees things differently, more individually and creatively.
I'm thinking Lady Gaga's Born This Way is a contender. We'll see.
Maybe I'm fooling myself, and I'm really of the generation represented by the song in it's original form. You know. Madonna's Express Yourself. :-)
