Jff--birthday Anxiety

I don't have any. I never really have, to be honest. In a couple of weeks I'll be turning 35 which seems like it should feel like a big deal. Maybe if I didn't have a long-weekend cruise all lined up for the following weekend it would seem a bit of a bummer, but it really honestly doesn't at all.

I understand a lot of people almost prefer to pretend that they don't have a birthday at all, but they just don't scare me. Do you have birthday anxiety??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Rachel--I totally agree! I'm just now starting to get some laugh-lines around my eyes & I'm really ok with that, too! It means I've had a happy life up to this point & really, who could ask for anything more, right?

@Sue--yes, the cruise I was talking about? That's just for me, my mom, my sister & my aunt. We're leaving all of the children & men-children at home to fend for themselves! Ha!

I have not been bothered by any so far. But, I am 44 now and when I think of being 50 it kind of does. It just seems so hard to think of being 50, but I have several years to work my way into it! My husband is reading this over my shoulder, so I am going to tease him about being the old man of almost 48!

NO WAY do I have birthday anxiety! I thank my husband and best friend for this... they're both almost 40, and I'm turning 28 in less than 2 weeks ;) I will forever be younger, LOL!! The thing is, I see how much they enjoyed their 30's, so I look forward to them. Then I'll see how they do in their 40's, and look forward to that as well.

I've always been a 'glass half full' kind of girl, so I embrace aging and everything that goes along with it. I know, easy to say now in my 20's, but honestly, you've got to look at the bright side of everything! Everyone ages! I'm so not worried about it! Age is just a number. Even when I'm 80, doesn't mean I can't still be a kid at heart :)

@Melissa, like my BFF says 'the laugh lines are there for a reason; I've been having a great time!!' ;)

just turned 49 a couple of months ago. I hated it! One of the few times in my life when my BD bothered me.

Conversely, I am looking forward to 50. I will be 50 & my Mom will be 70. I'm planning a road trip to celebrate. My sis is invited....& that's it. NO men allowed! My sons are saying "that's not fair", especially my 24yo son. (he's my Mom's traveling companion...they've hit 30+ states in the past 2 years!)

I am sooo pumped over our road trip. No final destination....just the road. I'm thinkin' I may need to rent a convertible or a vintage car!

Tomorrow is my 50th birthday. Yep, I said it - FIFTY.... usually I don't really care, but this year, I kind of find myself a bit melancholy about it.

I wouldn't say anxiety per se, but I am turning 40 later this year and for me it's just a kind of an awareness that I'm getting older and of how much time has passed already. Don't have anything special planned yet.

ha! not at all, considering the alternative - LOL! I thoroughly enjoy my birthday each year (I'll be 35 this year too!). It is not always a big to-do. sometimes we are on vacation, sometimes it is just cake for breakfast with my family, or drinks with "the girls" after work.
Always a good time:)

Not until I turned 40, that was a big one. I mean, how can I possibly be IN MY 40's, LOL!

For some reason, 27 was weird for me, but I haven't had any problems since then and I'm now 42.
