Cipro is a lot stronger than some antibiotics.. Make sure to eat food before you take it.

Nope, you don't. I took just one pill for UTI the last time I had it and that was a lot of years ago before I switched to drinking a beer for it.

I am a pharmacist...UTIs in women can easily be treated with a 3 day course of antibiotics. In fact, it used to be treated with a single dose, but that is not as common anymore. And not to dispute the previous poster, but regular Cipro can be taken without regard to meals (the extended release (once a day) tablets should be taken with food, however). Take it at least 2 hours before any calcium and/or antacids, as they can interfere with absorption.

Some antidbiotics are shorter than a week. Depends on what it is for. Cipro should be helpful.
