My 15 mos old son has a history of fevers...you can see previous posts. We had a couple weeks off and he ran one last week. I'm waiting to see if the pattern shows up again. Anyway, this morning he woke up with a completely dry diaper (after 12 hours). A little strange, but by 8:30 daycare said it was saturated, but he was so very fussy! I ended up going to pick him up after a few hours b/c he couldn't really be consoled. What could be causing that? Yes, he's teething, but he doesn't typically fuss that much when getting teeth. Just seems odd. Can separation anxiety cause him to cry/SCREAM that long? He really was crying, not just whining and being fussy. I could hear him on the phone. BTW, the daycare is great and very patient.

What can I do next?

Hi luv-

This is gonna seem a bit off base...

BUT

One of my kiddos had some HUGE medical issues...but one thing that kept happening was low grade fevers for seemingly NO reason...

We finally figured out she was 'micro' aspirating...inhaling enough to kind of 'piss off' her lungs...but not enough for anything to 'show' on ex ray or bloodwork...

Just a thought.

Best luck!

Myself, I'd be making a trip to the pedi to rule out bladder/kidney infections. - But yes, my son screamed the *whole* time he was there the first 6 weeks of daycare. He's a very strong willed kid though.

Have you considered taking him to a chiropractor to see if they find anything? I would do that.

If it was his first day back at day care after time off from day care, likely he was stressed by the change of going back. He is young enough that he would not necessarily just slip right back into day care easily if he was away for several weeks, even if it's a great daycare he's been in previously. Remember, he is still only 15 months and the shift from all day at home to all day back at daycare is a huge one for him; the past few weeks away from daycare have essentially been forever in his mind. I would get him back to daycare tomorrow to ensure he gets back into that routine. Too bad you can't ease him in with a few hours of it each day instead of the entire day -- or can you?

Prob nothing but could be a urinary tract infection.

The diaper thing happened all the time.

Was this his first time back since the time off? Maybe he just didn't want to go back yet.
