It is normal. Just wait! My two year old twins can do it on demand! They think it is the funniest thing in the world. My daughter, who is 5 can't stand it!
Ok I know some of you might laugh when I ask this and its kinda a gross question but my 2 month old boy has always been a big tooter - which doesn't suprise me after all he is a guy ;) but everytime he does I think he's pooped! I don't remember my daughter or sisters ever being so stinky! lol His gas doesnt make him uncomfortable and even though he goes awhile between poops but does this mean he's starting to get constipated or something Im eating or is is just him being a normal stinky BOY? :)

Normal. Sad thing is they never grow out of it!

According to Dr. Oz on Oprah, lots of gas coming out is a great thing :-)I have twin two year old boys who are coming into the realization that it's a "funny" thing to do so now starts the years of constant nagging from their mama that there is an "appropriate time and place for this type of thing"
My 10 week old son passes gas so loud that he was once mistaken for another adult while out in public!!! He does not know what he is doing, but it is a little embarassing to me because everyone looks! I have read that the straining, grunting, and loud tooting is normal. I am not sure if it is just a boy thing or a baby thing. Just know that I am experiencing the same thing as you so you are not alone! haha
I wouldn't worry about it. I have a 7 yr old that thinks tooting is funny and man is his stinky. He did it the other day and I had to roll ALL the car windows down when it was FREEZING outside. LOL!!!! What is worse being cold or smelling him....I'll take the cold thank you very much. My 5 month old has now gotten into the habit of tooting and smiling. OH NO!

I just had to answer this because I felt we have a few things in common by what you wrote. My sons birthday is also 8/30 but year 1995. He to had lots of gas problems but was not constipated. I breast feed and after 2 weeks told thedr about the gas he was passing often. I found out that lots of veggies that are good for us can bloat us and make us gassy. I craved after giving birth broccoli, coliflower, tomatoes, onions. Then when I cut those foods out the bloating in my body went down and his gas problems went completely away. My food didn't taste so good without the tomatoes and onions but my baby was worth it.
Now after I stopped breast feeding I went back to eating it again and 12 years later he still has gas from them, but he can control it himself, SOMETIME, BOYS!!!
Hope this helps.

Talk to your doctor - he may need to switch formulas, or if you're breastfeeding it may be something in your diet that's making him gassy.. no, it's not "NORMAL" just because he's a boy... they don't earn that Stinky label till they're closer to 3. :)
Wow - reading everyone else's advice, I guess I just got lucky. FTR, I cut out dairy, beans, broccoli, and high acid foods while I was nursing - it cut down on the baby's gas.

i dont think its a big deall as my daughter is a big stinker too. i feel the same way but the doctors says its normal
When my 4 year old was a baby, he would toot (I should say fart with how loud they are) so loud in public that people would look at me when he did it. I would have to make sure to say something like.. "did you toot?"... I am sure they thought I was trying to blame my gas on my baby. I would say it is totally normal. He still does it all the time, they aren't as loud, but MAN do they stink!!
Perfectly normal stinky boy! My baby girl is a stinker too! So much so that our family made up a little song for her. You are welcome to sing it to your son!
Here is the main verse.
We thought that she did a poop, but it was just continuous toots. LOL J.
It sounds perfectly normal to me. I don't know about a boy thing- my daughter is the one with the smelly gas here! I wouldn't worry unless he actually has a problem with his bowel movements. Their little digestive systems are so immature, not completely developed at 2 months- gas is perfectly normal.
He may be allergic to something he is eating.
Nope, I think my youngest daughter could give him a run for his money! I have a friend- i her 30's and I swear she farts like a man.. ALLL the time! AND make you leave the room! It has to just be the different way we are made and process our food. If there is some secret to making it stop I would love to know- between my husband, my 20 month old and my 6 yr old, they run the other 3 of us out of the house!! LOL
HI A.,
I have 2 daughters and both of them pass gas A LOT. My youngest is 4 months and she is the worst. My 2 year old does it but is not as bad. I think that it is just a kid thing.
C. Perla :)
I must admitt to you that my 19 month old daughter has been known to "rip" a few loud ones as well. But they don't even phase her when she does them. And shortly after I can expect a stinky diaper. So at your sons age it may just be a normal thing and doesn't really mean he will do it his whole life the way he does now....BUT, just like the other mommys said....he is a male.....:)
