My house has no light fixtures in any of the bedrooms and before baby is born I want to have some overhead lighting installed. I got a quote today that I felt was awfully high just to have them install 3 light boxes, we are going to install the fixtures ourselves. I was wondering if anyone else has had ceiling fan boxes installed and about what it cost you. I like the company they seem like they are trustworthy and they would do good work. Just not sure if I was off base on my original thought on what it would cost. They want close to $1000 to install 3 ceiling fan boxes. There is attic access to each room, which I would think would make things easier. Please let me know your experiences or your thoughts on what it should cost. Thanks Mamma's

We paid 8-$900 (I can't remember exactly) for boxes/switch working and installation of the actually fixture. So I think $1000 is a little bit on the high-side.
I would HIGHLY recommend having 2 more estimates done. Just make sure they are licensed and bonded!!!! Do NOT accept bids from people that have not even seen your house. My dad has been an electrician for 20+ years and is the village electrical inspector for the town of Riverside. I asked him to tell me a round-a-bout price for you (since he doesn't do work in Bolingbrook) and he said he couldn't do it unless he looked at how far apart the rooms are, the condition of your wiring, etc. If you want it done safe get a few more estimates from licensed electricians and if they are similar in price, chose the one you trust... you don't want shady wiring in your house with a new baby. (Congrats on the baby by the way) Goodluck!!! :)
I had one box installed with him hanging the light and putting on a new dimmer switch for $200.
