My question is I had a baby a few months ago and since having her I've had 2 periods about 28 days apart and I was supposed to start again 4 days ago if I go by my last 2 periods. Also I was on birth control but it was causing me problems so I had to stop taking it. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and they have all come back negative. Is this normal after having a baby?

What can I do next?

It takes a while after a baby to have regular periods. YOur body is still dealing with the pregnacy hormones. But a few months after? Check with your OG/GYN to be sure 'cause each person is different. I nursed my daughter so my cycle didn't start again until her first birthday.

Dang, girl. That's scary! lol
Well...I would continue with the tests, just in case.
For a month or so, periodically. A negative tet could be positive. But positive test couldn't be negative--there's your general rule ; )
Your hormones are probably just really screwed up. Keep an eye on it. If it persists in the months to come, you may need to see your gyno.

Its certainly not out of the ordinary, your hormones are still having fun. But remember that right after pregnancy is the easiest time to get pregnant again (mine are 13 mos apart) - especially if you're not breastfeeding exclusively. :}

You have flooded your "system" with hormones by having a baby. It takes a little while to get things back into sync. Perfectly normal....

Most concerning about your question is the birth control. I hope you don't think you can't get pregnant again if you're breast feeding! Not true! Unless you want to tempt fate, I'd certainly try to find a fool proof method of birth control. There are so many options, even a "barrier" method will work better than no method.

Your period can be regular and irregular and regular and irregular or just irregular the whole time for up to a year after having a baby, but the first few months, especially if you're nursing is almost always wacked, even if it is normal for awhile, you can just all of a sudden miss one or 2 months...or more sometimes, then just jump right back into the norm. Babies do a toll on our bodies, hardly ever are women's bodies in general "normal" until after almost a year. So, don't worry, what you're going through is totally normal.

go to your doctor it might be nothing but be safe cause I breast fed my last baby and it didn't do anything to my periods but you need to use some type of birth control if nothing else rubbers cause I have 4 children and my periods were right on time good luck

It is Normal to do that after you have a baby.but sometimes it could cause some problems for the fact is your hormones are trying to get back on track. and you just parduce a baby from the hormones productions. But if it continues i would goe see a doctor, your hormones might need help. and getting on a pill sometimes does work and it will make you feel bad for a month but my tow girls couldnt take the pill neither so i would sugest talking to a doctor.it might have done some damished. dont get worried just because i said that.

just figure it out and see.

From my personal experience and from the stories I heard from other new mommies....yes, irregular periods after having a baby is quite the norm. One of my friends states that her period was irregular for a full year after the births of both of her children. Mine was irregular for a few months...then was back on track for a few months....then irregular again for a few months.

Keep in contact with your gynocologist and keep them posted as to your cycle patterns. If there is anything to be concerned with, your gynocologist will want to check things out.

Hang in there....its annoying for now but I'm sure all will get back on track for you soon.

I would say it's probably normal, but you should probably take another test in a couple of weeks. When I had my son I was breastfeeding so I had no periods. When I stopped breastfeeding I began taking a birth control pill which regulated my periods, but as soon as I stopped taking it my periods were off schedule. It lasted maybe three months and things eventually got back on track. Good luck to you!
