I use the Otter box and it has worked well for me. My daughter has dropped it a couple of times and no damage. I don't like the hard covers because they break easily when dropped (my SD has gone through 4 hard covers).
Hi,
Any suggestions for iPhone 4/4s cases? Do you like the hard cases or the thin soft ones, or the bumpers, anything else? How has your iPhone done with a fall when it had that case? Any suggestions would be useful. Please use any benchmark - color, size, bulk, durability, kids :) I've never had an iPhone before and will get getting one soon and want to make an informed decision before I get one.
Thank you all so much.

I have the otter box and it works well for me. I am constantly on call with my job and keep it on my hip. I have dropped it and the phone was fine.
I love my custom photo case. It was a gift from one of my co-workers and she took the time to make a case out of a photo of my baby. Since then, I have given a lot of gift certificates to family and friends for the same. The website is getuncommon.com to get one.
The case is a hard plastic case made of any photo. I have had mine for 2 years and it still looks brand new. I have dropped my phone numerous times (iPhone 4) and the case protected it each time. Good luck
I have always bought whatever is cheapest on Amazon. My current one is just a cheap hard case and has been dropped more times then I can count. My last iphone (3G) was actually ran over by our truck...left on the bed, drove off, then drove over it. The screen had a small crack in it, but that was about it and it worked great. My son now uses it like an ipod touch.
I want an Otter Box but they aren't in my budget yet.
I got my case at AT&T and it is Speck . No issues not bulky.
I have an Otter Box case but geez I want my phone to slip into my pocket if needed. No issues when dropped. 17 yr old has Speck as well and no issues.
Only issue has been hubby who does not like cases so we've paid $100 for broken screen repair.
I have a cheap $5 hard plastic case - it works great and my phone has dropped many times. But make sure you use a screen film.
The Otter Box is the best case on the market. Amazon has the best price on it, typically. My uncle dropped his iPhone from a 3-story high scaffold. He chipped a small corner of the case, but the phone didn't have a scratch on it. He also dropped in out of his pocket and it was hit (but not run over) by a car. Again, the case was a little worse for wear, but the phone was undamaged. My husband is in and out of large trucks all day and has dropped his phone many times. The case is scratched, but the phone is not. They both have the Otter Box Defender series case. I have the Commuter, which is just slightly thinner. Both of my daughters (the youngest is 10) have Commuter cases on their iPods. All three of us have dropped them many times. I can't say enough good things about the Otter Box cases.
I use Otter Box (order from the internet) to protect my phone. They show a phone protected by the case being dropped - the case protects it! I broke the screen on a previous cellphone that didn't have as sturdy of a case...the phone kept working but the screen had lots of cracks in it. If you look at the cost to replace your phone (if you crack the screen), the otter box is a bargain! I use the "defender" and note that this company has many choices.
When I had the iPhone 4S I had a mophie case which is an extra battery in it. Also a life proof case is a must! It's way more durable then otterbox and its waterproof. I can't wait for them to come out for the iPhone 5..
I have a hard case and I dropped my phone once and now the glass is shattered. My friend has the softer JCrew case and she swears by it. Says she's dropped it on cement many times. Once I get my glass fixed I am getting one of those.
