Inverted Uterus??

I've been told that I have a tilted uterus as well. However, that did nothing to interfere with pregnancy of my third child. Everything went just fine, including delivery, which was the fastest out of all of them.

An inverted uterus is one that has been turned inside-out and often protrudes from the body. This happens typically when the caregiver puts too much traction on the umbilical cord and the placenta hasn't detached. Was there maybe a different word that he/she used? Tilted or tipped, bi-cornate...?

I had an inverted uterus too. I was told I would have trouble gettting pregnant. I had NO trouble at all. In fact one of ours we conceived in the first try! Something else they told me was that I would be more likely to have back labor. For me this WAS true, but I got an epidural so it was fine. I would talk to your Dr. to ask about more info., just to put your mind at ease.

mine is turn towards my backbone and with my poly.cys.overian syndrome it took me 5 years to get preg. i didnt know any of this and if i had known we would have not waited. so talk to your doc and make sure its not going to cause you trouble. i wanted children before i was 30 i was 35. so just double check and make sure so you have the time you need.

Hi, Unless your OBGYN diagnosed you with an inverted uterus by ultra sound I would have it checked when you are ready to have children. I was told i had an inverted uterus but I actually had a bicornate uterus. If you have a bicornate uterus you can still have children i have twin boys but you are high risk and would need to have a cerclage put in to keep the baby in. But I think having an inverted uterus is something simple to deal with its just the location of your uterus in your body.

Mine is inverted and I am pregnant with #3! I do not know much more about it, I just know my midwife was never too concerned about it:)

I know I researched it on the net before I got pregnant with my first but I've since just forgotten everything I learned... guess I stopped worrying:)

I don't know exactly what it means, but a lady I used to work with has the same problem and she has 6 kids. She's never used fertility treatments or had any major problems during pregnancy. I would suggest going to your current OB GYN and telling him/her of your concerns. They can test you and answer any questions.

Hi Sarah,

A good friend of mine, her doc told her her uterus is tilted. She was worried she would have trouble getting pregnant, but she didn't. She is 12 weeks and everything is going good.

I have no idea, but you should ask you gyno. Look it up on webmd.com too. I like to go there when I have medical questions.

My gyno calls it a tilted uterus. I was told from the age of 18 that I would never have children( I also have PCOS). When I turned 25 I became pregnant. My mother lost her left ovary and fallopian tube after my oldest sister was born. She was told she would not conceive again. 8 years later she had my middle sister and lost half her right ovary. Then 18 months later I came into the world! She gave birth to all of us vaginally. I had to have an emergency C-section, but that was because my pelvic bones wouldn't budge. Have hope that your uterus won't deny you children, it may just take a little longer for you to conceive. Hopefully, your husband has some athletic little swimmers!

I have a tipped uterus and I believe it was more difficult for me to get pregnant.

I agree w/ the other ladies that I would research and talk w/ the Dr when you are ready to start having children.

Inverted Uterus is just a uterus thats tipped back more then other uterus which can cause some or alot of back pain on your monthly, but for me I haven't had any pain during that time of the month. I'm a mother of three not counting my miscarries which was not result of having a inverted uterus it was just something that happened. I wouldn't be too concerned about it just its not that unique to have one. Lots of women are finding out they have one. My doctor told me it matters on the individual how they get pregnant & that a tipped uterus should be the least of your worries.

hey sarah! there are many sites that speak of Inverted uterus. Just type in the google area of your computer screen the words Inverted Uterus and enter. you will have many locations in which to read info on this topic. Then I strongly asking all of your questions to your ob-gyn. and ask until you feel satisfied with his/her explanations.
