It does work if you have the patience to use it, but it doesn't work as well as the commercials! I have thick hair and for my hair to look it's best, it requires using the Instyler followed by the flatiron.
Has anyone bought one?? Pro's and Con's?? are they worth the money?

My daughter really wanted it last year for Christmas so I bought it and she used it about 3 times. I don't think it's any defect with the product though, I just don't think she has the patience. I tried it once on my hair and was pretty happy with the results.
I bought a set of two for myself & my daughter. Previously, we have had a flat iron. Personally, I was happier with the results from the flat iron. On the other hand, I have found that the InStyler is more user-friendly for my 9-year-old daughter than a traditional flat iron.
I don't personally have one, but I saw the results after someone used one. This person has super curly hair. It straightened her hair beautifully!
I have one and really like it. I don't think it's a great product for thin hair. My daughter has extremely thick hair and this product is fabulous on her hair. I also have a fair amount of hair but it tends to break off hair in the front. I would spend the money on a good Chi Farouk Systems flat iron. You can also curl your hair with these.

I would save my money. I bought it and was very disappointed. The TV promos look great, but the actual product does not work anything like it does on TV. Spend the money on a good flat iron would be my suggestion.
I have been curious about this also. My daughter and I both want one, but want to make sure it is worth it before I spend the money on one.
Thanks for asking this question.
A friend of mine had one and I asked her the same thing. It broke off her hair, cause damage and she was so frustrated she threw it away. She was so disatisfied she wouldn't even let me try it before she threw it out. "It'll ruin your hair!!" she said.
I'd go with a flat iron:)
I bought one (set of 2) have been using it as well as my daughter and love it. It saves time and works great.

I have a friend who has one and loved it until her hair started breaking off from it. It gave her a lot more body but damaged her hair to the point that she doesn't use it anymore. Good luck!
I don't know about that product but I noticed that the other response mentioned a good flat iron.
My daughter uses the CHI original flat iron. It is great. I have a new one unter the tree for her because the plug got cracked from her taking it to and from cheer, etc.
Penney's had a coupon and I got this new one for $90. My daughter paid $125 for her first one. Great product!
you can get a generic chi at sallys for about $60..i had a chi and loved it but it broke and i got a generic one from sallys last christmas and i almost think it is better than the chi..and less expensive!
