Anything Deet Free. AVON has one that we love. Its the only one they offer. You can order right on line if you don't know anyone who sells it.
I have been researching Insect Repellent since it is that season for Mosquito's and i just wanted to hear everyone elses opinion on what Mosquito spray out there is the best for Children.
After the few responses so far, and my research on the internet I have decided to order some Avon skin so soft bug guard plus picardin for my family. This is a new product from avon and it is Deet Free.
I found some good information on my search, and I thought i would share this with all of you. In my search it said that you want to avoid Sunscreen with insect repellent because in more cases than not you put sunscree on more often than bug spray and it is better if you can avoid using bug spray more than once in a day.

I definitely agree- Avon is great! They have insect repellents & sunscreens in one, so you only have to put one product on your child. They are safe for anyone over 6 months old. I admit that I do sell Avon, but I wouldn't tell you to use it if I didn't believe that it worked.
Avon has an insect repellent out that does not have DEET in it.

avon sells a product called skin-so-soft. it isn't specifically a bug repellent but works just like one. i know many moms that use this....
Hi K. -
I would try a natural repellent (can be found at Whole Foods or many Helath Food stores). All of the chemicals and DEET in the mosquito sprays are not good for anyone! So much of that stuff is absorbed when put on the skin. I think there is one by "Kiss My Face" and one in a yellow container with a purple label (can;t remember the name) -- both at Whole Foods that seem to work pretty well. I know many can be very greasy, so be sure to spray outside (I made the mistake of using it my laundry room on my way out...results in slick floors!)
Happy repelling!
Avon's Skin-so-Soft Big Guard is the best. They have very good sunscreen too!
I used Burt's Bees insect repellant while I was pregnant and plan to use it on my daughter. It's all natural, DEET free, and works great. The only drawack is that it's made from oils so it's a little greasy.
I just talked to a nurse that I work with about bud repellent for my children. My 6 year got chewed up by black flies and had over 30 bites on her back and neck. She suggested useing a lotion that had bug repellent and sunscreen combined. I found OFF brand that had 30 spf with repellent for mosquitoes, chiggers, black flies and gnats. It works really well!! The nurse also said to avoid bug spray with kids because they often inhale it. She said to use the lotions. I found it at the grocery store with the camping stuff.
