I'm really thinking about buying Insanity. I want to know first if anyone here has done the workout and what were your results. Also, how much time did it take to get to where you are now?

What can I do next?

I have a friend that's done it, and he was in really good shape to begin with.
he said the warm up had him sucking air!
He gave it up after the first round of the program. He wasn't getting the results that he wanted without having some kind of weights.

I haven't tried it. I'm starting more of the tabata style training now, to see what that adds to my fitness regime. I find that the older I get, the more results I get from weight lifting (heavy...10-20 lbs for shoulders, biceps, etc...) than I do from cardio.
Tabata is a complete cardio working in 4 minutes. I did my first one the other day, and it kicked my butt...for free. :)

I was thinking about a nice few days of peace and quiet at the sanitarium. Yes, I have considered insanity...but only as an option to get a break from the kids...

Hahaha!... I really thought you meant "insanity." I've thought about trying that... like pretending to have a mental breakdown so I can escape to an ashram for a week.

I have it and YES it is INSANE! I love it though. It takes awhile to build up the stamina to do the whole routine. I don't know what kind of shape you are in, but it works. It's not for the faint of heart lol. The first time I did it, I struggled to do the whole tape. Well I had to take breaks every now and again, even he does ( Shaun T). It's worth the money and if you stick with it you should start to see results w/in a couple of weeks. You will feel better even before that! Good Luck

I have the tapes and it is hard core! Give it 4 weeks and you should see some big changes.

I finished it 3 weeks ago. It starts out slow, and gradually gets harder and harder as the weeks go along. Not that the first day isn't hard, but the different DVDs and the schedule help you to get through it all. The first month's workouts are 45 minutes. They're tough, but not impossible. The second month's workouts are about an hour. I remember standing and watching most of the workout my first time on the hour-long ones. It's amazing to see how much progress you make. That same one that I watched, I was able to do the entire thing by the end of the month. I'd say, it's H-A-R-D and motivation is key. My husband did it with me so we kinda motivated each other. We also had a goal to firm up for his sister's wedding so that helped to motivate me too.
I did the program to lose the chub below my bellybutton (thanks to my 3rd born). I ended up with muscles that I never knew I had: bicepts, quads, abs, shoulders, pecs. I was 130 when I started and have lost 7 pounds. I'm 5'5.
Oh - knees. If you have any knee problems at all, don't do it. There's a ton of jumping.
Good luck.

LOL Very funny.I was thinking of the other kind too. Imagine the first thought that came into my head was the rest I would get, sad but true.
No offence to anyone with mental issues.
Happy exercising!!

I have a good friend that just bought it, she and her hubby are going to start it today.
If it works for them, we might give it a whirl.
