Did the bloodwork include a thyroid test? Sounds like hypothyroid to me. How about red blood count?
I am really really tired all the time and don't know why. It's beyond just feeling normally tired. Some days I can't do anything except sit and fall asleep on the couch. I feel like I am going to fall asleep driving. Doc did bloodwork and said it was all fine - thus I am fine. He said I could do a sleep study to see how I am sleeping. I think I sleep fine and I don't have the time for a sleep study. What else can cause this?
They have tested my thyroid many times. About 2 years ago my thyroid tests came back hyperthyroid, but the 2nd set of tests came back normal. I never did meds as it fixed itself. Since then my results have been in the normal range.
I did just have it tested a week or so ago and my thyroid was fine but my sodium and albumin are low and my RDW is always low. I have no idea if that matters and the doc did not seem concerned (this was my Psychiatrist).
They now are going with Depression and have put me on Effexor.
My regular doc said he tested me for fibromyalgia.
I am going to check into that gene mutation with the B vitamin absorption that on of you posted.
I am so sick of feeling this way. My DH does not understand and I don't have the energy for the kids that I wish I had.
Oh and I do see a chiropractor
How do they test for Celiac?

I recommend the sleep study. If you have sleep apena you may not realize that you are waking up to breathe. You don't fully wake up just enough to start breathing again.
Did they check your thyroid? Could be over/under active.
I felt like I would go to bed and "sleep" alnight, but wake up feeling like I didn't sleep. Its because my Thyroid was in overdrive, so even though my eyes we closed and I was sleeping, my body wasn't.
And honestly, if they want you to do a sleep study you don't have time NOT to do it....sleep affects everything you do and if you continue, you will waste a lot more time being sluggish and slow that it would have taken for the study. Don't waste days later to spare hours today.
.
Your fatigued could be caused by any number of things. In my case the extreme fatigue that I experienced was caused by Celiac Disease. You do not have to have stomach issues to have Celiac. I did not have any of the typical symptoms.
Dr. Green from Columbia University in NY is a Celiac expert and he states that if a person is experiencing extreme fatigue and a reason has not been found - they should be tested for Celiac disease.
I'd get a second opinion on your blood work before they put you on antidepressants - it sounds like your doctor is playing a guessing game. A sleep study probably won't really tell you anything anyway.
Did they do a pregnancy test? That was the first symptom I experienced -- extreme exhaustion!
Good luck!
If you think something is not fine you should pursuit it. I learned the hard way to follow my instincts with my health. Doctors are extremely quick to disregard symptoms in young people.
If you snore at all, a sleep study is a good idea. Also, seasonal allergies can make a person very sleepy. I recently did allergy testing for the first time. I had no idea I was so allergic to grasses. Now I'm taking an over the counter allergy med and it's helping a lot. Good luck and God bless. I have been where you are (as far as symptoms and my husband not understanding) and I know how hard it is. Get yourself help right away, even if it means going to a new doctor or an ER.
Have you considered diet? I wasn't THAT tired but I was more tired than I should have been for sure until I cut out wheat and dairy. Huge difference. I was like a new person.
Depression can cause this.
I get very little sleep so I began seeing a chriopractor for adjustments oh my I slept great for 4 nights now go again Thursday less back pain too i'm feelijn better than I have in a while
My daughter was experiencing this same symptom. Just could not get out of bed! The docs thought it was depression and put her on anti-depressants. They kept changing the prescription and dosage because they weren't helping. She finally went to another doctor and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The doctor said that fibromyalgia and depression are often confused. She's now off the anti-depressants and on medication for the fibromyalgia and is doing much better!
Wow... my sis recently had a similar thing happening to her, she was taking two naps a day. She went to a naturopath, who suggested having her genetics looked at, and she's got an 'off' chromosome that's actually really common. Here's some info:

I don't know if this is what you are dealing with. It could also be serious depression, too... but I would have a look at the above. My sis has since met many women with the MTHFR gene and has heard positive feedback on the treatments for this.
Just had a friend with these same symptoms and she saw a Rheumatologist and was diagnsed with fibromyalgia. Best of luck to you and hope you feel better soon.
It could be mold too. I was tired all of the time, and pretty crabby too. When we moved, just over a month ago, my mood suddenly improved and I have a lot more energy. I'm convinced that something in the old place was wearing me out, and it was most likely mold.
Please get tested for Lyme disease. One of my friends went through years of tests and bloodwork to try to figure out her overwhelming tiredness. Finally turned out to be Lyme disease.
Ask your doctor about Adrenal Fatigue. I am presently being treated by a naturopath for Adrenal Fatigue and my symptoms of extreme exhaustion are definitely getting better.
I am so sorry you have to deal with this!
