Hi ladies heres my problem. I am about 30 weeks pregnant with my second child, the first is my son and he is two years old. I am young, in my mid twenties and with this baby have not gained nearly as much as I did with the first one. The problem is I am "all belly" and I am having unbearable pains on my pubic bone area. The doctor gave me a Belly Band to wear but it is not helping and chasing a two year old all day, it is not the most conducive thing to be wearing. Has anyone had this problem or pain? Does anyone know what I can do about it other then suffer for the next ten weeks? Please help...it feels as if someone is kicking me in the...you know where....ALL DAY!!??

What can I do next?

Hi T.:
If your time and budget allows, I highly recommend a pre-natal yoga class. I didn't suffer from too many pregnancy aches and pains (thank goodness!) but some other ladies in my yoga class had similar complaints to yours. Our yoga instructor gave them some great stretches and exercises that helped them tremendously. And they all wondered why their doctors weren't giving them that kind of advice. Class is on Monday evenings near Akron (about 20 min. away -- right off of 77S) WELL WORTH the drive if you can spare the time. If you're interested, send me a reply and I'll give you details! I hope you feel better...

Hi T.! I feel your pain! I was a retail manager (at the The Children's Place in Parmatown of all places! small world) and had HORRIBLE pubic pain from 6 months on. My doctor told me it was the way the baby was lying and because I was on my feet 40 hrs a week. Unfortunately, the only thing that helped was my doctor forced me to stop working at 34 weeks. The pain never really went away compeltely, it still hurt to try to roll from side to side in bed, but walking got better. Maybe there's someone that can come over help you a couple times a week, or let your husband take completely over when he gets home from work? My doctor told me rest wa sthe only thing that would really help.

Hi, I'm A., and I'm a single mother of four... I've had that problem through two of my four pregnancies, and I wish I could say it goes away. I also got the belly band, but did not use it as it didn't help (especially when chasing other children around). There isn't really much that can be done to take away the pain (believe me I tried!), except to try to take things easy for the next ten weeks. I know that's not easy, but that's really the only thing I can tell you. Try taking warm baths as often as possible as it will take pressure off your pelvis, and if you have access to the YMCA, or anywhere with an indoor pool that is open, try that. My midwives suggested these to me with my last pregnancy (which ended 9-9-06.. I have a beautiful baby girl), and when I got the opportunity to do either of those.. it did make me feel much better! I hope you will be able to, at the very least, take warm baths at the end of each night. Also, try to find a chiropractor who woorks with pregnant women... I can give you the name of a good one in Westlake if you'd like! I hope this is helpful to you! Good luck!
