M.,
I am in the same boat you are right now, you are not alone. The worst time for me is at night after my son goes to sleep. I love fruit and vegetables, but oh boy, do I love sweets too. I do not keep any goodies in the house, or when I do treat myself I make sure I buy a single serving size. For example if I want a piece of cake I will buy one piece of cake, or one donut. You can also buy small ice cream cups, I'll buy one for me and one for my husband. I make sure that those are occassional treats. For everyday late night snacks I have fruit and salads. I joined a gym last week and going has helped to motivate me to keep the eating under control.
I am very concerned by why you say you need to lose weight ASAP. Weight does not come off ASAP, but if you cut the sweets and exercise you will be healthier and weight loss will be a great side effect. Try to focus on being healthy instead of dropping pounds and you will probably have more success. Also, joining weight watchers or a similar group can help keep you focused.
I know how hard it is, I'm going through exactly the same thing right now. Good luck, and feel free to send me a message if you'd like to talk about it.

I think going to the gym will definitely relieve your anxiety. Exercise is the only thing that helps me with stress. I am new mom working full time & always on the run. My suggestion to motivate you is to hire a trainer, if you can. The combination of eating right & exercise is the only way you can loose weight. Eat less calories a day, work out 3 days a week to start. 1/2 hour each day is a great start. Cardiovascular is the way to start to burn fat. Weight watches is also a great way to change your eating habits & lifestyle. Its not a diet, its a lifestyle change that you need to be dedicated too. You only live once. Make it a healthy life for you & your kids.
My cousin swears by Weight Watchers because they teach you about food and healthy eating and also allow for sweets. Plus you have support from other people in the same situation. And then you take what you learned and use it for the rest of your healthy life. Good luck!
