In-home Childcare Playroom Items?

I'm going to be re-starting my in-home in a couple of months and since we're moving, I'll now have an actual playroom. So far, I'm looking to get a train table, art easel, table and chairs with foam alphabet mat underneath, storage cubbies, and a cute rug. Those of you with a play room, what would you add to this? I'm looking to do primary colors and white and will be watching kids that are 2-5 years old. Thanks in advance for any input! Note: my playroom will be about the size of a formal dining room or a large bedroom.

What can I do next?

What about play stations? My daughter's daycare had a sturdy kitchen set, play clothes, dolls, etc. Do you also have room for a small bookshelf with a library and some kid-sized couches or chairs? Even at a year old, my daughter would pull books out of the canvass shelf thing they had and would want me to read them, or would page through them.

What about a little sitting area? Like with some carpet squares or bean bag chairs. You could have books, puzzles and coloring books in that area or even a small t.v. where they can watch educational/learning shows or cartoons.

You will definitely need a play kitchen! My son's old daycare had a full length mirror on the wall and hooks for dress up clothes. You may want go by the teacher store and get posters with the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors. A glider or rocker to hold/rock anyone who needs a little cuddle. Bean bags and a bookshelf for reading. Don't forget a cd player for music/dancing time!
Good Luck!

A kitchen area with dishes.
A 'grocery store' area with a cash register and play food and a shopping cart.
Posters on the wall (and a pointer for you) so you can sing ABCs, do 123s, etc.
Maybe a dress-up area with a giant mirror.
Imaginative play area with legos, megablocks, dominoes, blocks, etc.
Book shelf with books and a couple small chairs for a reading area.

Do you know where you will be moving and the actual size of the room? Will the kids only play in that one room, or will you also have things in another room or area of your home? What you list is a great idea, along with a play kitchen that someone else mentioned. Just be careful not to have too much stuff, the kids needs lots of room to run and play in. A bookcase or two is a great place for a few books and storage room on the shelves to keep the room neater.
