I think a fibroid of that size will cause you no trouble at all. I had three, but one was 21cm (yes!) and in my case this caused me to miscarry once before I had them removed. I think you will be fine!

I didn't have one personally, but a friend of mine did. Her pregnancy was pretty easy, no problems with how she was feeling, it didn't hurt the baby or any of that...but, I will say that hers did grow quite a bit during pregnancy and although it didn't affect her negatively at the time and it did shrink back down after the baby was out, it caused her some additional pain in those weeks after delivery. What did your doctor say about it affecting your vaginal delivery chances? Where is the fibroid located? I will tell you that my friend's baby was breech and her doctors think (aren't totally sure) that the fibroid contributed to that b/c of where it was located. They thought that maybe she (the baby) couldn't get into birthing position b/c it was blocking her movement. The baby was totally fine and it wasn't super crowded or anything, just made it hard to go upside down! I'm not trying to be a negative nelly or contribute to your fear, but you may want to ask your doctor how likely a scenario like this might be for you. Good luck! I'm sure everything will work out!

I carried and vaginally delivered both of my pregnancies with 2 uterine fibroids that never gave me any trouble. Your doctor will most likely tell you if they're not causing a problem -don't worry about them. With ultrasounds and prenatal care, they'll know if they're growing with the pregnancy and causing any issues. That can happen, but it's rare. Just ask at your next checkup. They shouldn't have any bearing on your having a vaginal delivery.

I had fibroids when pregnant, apparently they go away for me when my uterus shrinks. They did affect my delivery. For my first pregnancy, they were so big that my baby could not turn, and she was breech. But at the end of the day after my c-section, I had a healthy baby, and that is all that matters!

This is one of those questions you need to discuss with your doctor. Do it now so that you won't have to be so afraid.

I've read that many women have healthy babies with no difficulty when they have fibroid tumors.
