T.S.
When we have extra treats I tell my husband to take it to his office, it gets eaten and appreciated by the staff, and I don't suffer the extra calories :-)
Oh my gosh! What am I going to do with all of these cookies! I got so many and I am trying lose weight and it makes me twitch when I have to look at them.
My husband will be mad at me if I throw them away, but I just cannot stop shoving them in my face!!!
Who loves cookies!?!?!?

I eat them in moderation, just a couple a day, and exercise. They can be very expensive to make not to mention time consuming so I would freeze them or give them away before I would throw them away. Now you've made me hungry for cookies...........
I think I'd rather be fat than to hear a pig oinking at me every time I open the fridge. Talk about having to schedule more therapy...
Queen, I feel for you. So many people gave us (me) chocolate and truffles this year. Freeze them in small batches. Save them for afternoon tea with the kids. Put those cookies to use, so you don't feel controlled by them anymore. Give them a purpose, lovingly put them away for another time.
At first I thought you were going to talk about the movie "The Hobbit"!
Walk over to the neighbor's house and hand over the rest of the cookies. That's your best bet!
And then your neighbor can write into us and ask us what to do with your cookies!
Dawn
Self control.... give them to someone or trash them. They are not being forced to be shoved into your face!!
We eat sweets VERY rarely so when people give us cookies, desserts, etc, they are usually trashed unless my daughter has friends over and then I can count on the boys eating everything!
I have been known to post a picture of a HUGE, Very OBESE person in the pantry to remind me if I have an off day with my cravings of something salty. We also had a contraption in the fridge that sounded like a pig. That helps too. It is one reason we don't have weight issues.... we don't want the consequences!!
ETA: @trees, Lol. No therapy needed here . We have self control and maintain our bodies and minds well. Good one!!! I know I'm one of your faves to flame when you can, lol have fun!!
Happy New Year!!
Don't give them to Amy!
freeze them 4 to a bag and take 1 bag out a week.
I love cookies too, but seriously, either find someone to give them to, or trash them. My husband loves to bring home desserts from restaurants when he goes to work dinners (which happens 1-2 times a week). I would eat them, and then feel so guilty later for all that fat and sugar.
Last month I restarted Weight Watchers, after having been off is since the summer of 2010, when I was pregnant with my last baby. I already had all the healthy food in my house, but the big difference is now that I'm not eating the junk. If we received chocolate for Christmas, it was promptly re-gifted. I didn't bake a single cookie this Christmas. Keeping the temptations out of my home has helped me drop 10 lbs in the last month.
Can you hold out until Monday? Send them to the office. They always seem to disappear there.
If you go to church donate them to be served with the coffee after the service.
Tell your husband to hide them from you.
Put them out for the birds. The birds will love the cookies.
Re-gift, give to hospitals....Nursing Homes...your neighbors, take them to work, have your husband take them to work....
I give all extras to my husband to take to work.
Freeze them! Eat them one at a time throughout the year.
Look around your neighborhood. Is there an office, a church, a thrift store, a charity that could use cookies for their customers or their staff? Just walk in and ask. Keep in mind that some organizations (such as the Post Office) cannot accept homemade goods for their employees. But I betcha you'll find a taker.
Freezing them might work. It wouldn't work at my home. I know where the freezer is. If the freezer had a lock on it, I would know the combination. But maybe it would work at your house!
My cousin stoped by the other night with a big plate of goodies. I ate some, felt guilty and horribly fat. So my son and one of his friends were out shoveling last night and I told them to come in, I had something for them, I took a few cookies out and said here you guys need to energy.
BTW: Cookies freeze really well. You can freeze most of them in small amounts and take out a few at a time and have them for dessert at a later time.
freeze them....share with the neighbors....donate to a needy facility.
& for each cookie you put into your mouth, walk 5 minutes around the house!
Have your husband take them to work, or put them in an area which is not in your 'high traffic' zone. I have my husband take the sweets to work.
I'm usually not a big cookie fiend, however, we were given some awesome amazing chocolate cookies for Christmas by a friend-- and I've still forgotten to remind my husband to eat them or take them away. YUM!
Donate them
Find you closest Army post and get the name of someone overseas and send them in a care package. Maybe contact the USO , or find someone in your neighborhood that has someone deployed.
I just threw out a bunch for the exact same reason!
Tomorrow is another day. Just start cutting back tomorrow. :-)
Girl I know what you're saying! If it were me, I'd take them to to my husband's shop - the 4 guys working up there will polish them off in about 10 minutes. Viola! Problem solved.
If no such manly eaters existed, I'd probably freeze them in small bags so that I could pull out a little baggie once a week for the family to snack on.
Put them in the frezer and take them out for party's or small gatherings..out of site out of mind..
