Ideas to Help 15 Month Old with Circumcision

my sons weren't that old either...but all we did was squeeze a big gob of vaseline on their penises...and stick a piece of gauze on it..at every diaper change...about 7-10 days i believe we stopped....what method did they use/ do you know...that might have something to do with it ...or the fact he is older...my second son..i remember they gave us these little gauze strips that already supposedly had vaseline on them...well so much for that..i don't even think it had been a full day since his circumsion and that thing was stuck to it..my husband pulled it off...that caused it to bleed..w.as redder for longer than it seemed with my first...but it healed as well..

It does take a little while for the circumcision to heal. It is important to keep neosporin on it..but I will say this, when it does heal...PLEASE pull that forskin back and clean it good. My son's grandma and I pulled my son's back and cleaned it every time we bathed him or changed his diaper and apparently we didn't do it good enough. His doctor had to "pop" it loose again because it had grown up some. It really hurt my son. Of course he was okay after that. We thought we were doing everything right, but the poor little guy had to go through that. He is 6 years old now and we are still paranoid about making sure he is clean down there. Good luck and it will heal..it just takes a little time.

My son had his circumcision done when he was a few days old. I remember that it took a good two weeks to comepletely heal. I don't think you should worry.

I used A&D ointment on my son when he was circumsised and it worked great for him. make sure u put a whole lot on it cuz if u dont it could get stuck to the diaper and that will make it bleed. That may be what the problem is if ur not putting a lot of the neosporin on it ,it maybe getting stuck to his diaper.

I have a 20 month old and he was clipd a few days after he was born he was born at 32 weeks but they didnt do some thing right and we just had to have it done a month ago and his did bleed a good bit but about 3 weeks after he had it done he was fine. If you are worried he is still bleeding too much call the doc and let them know

My son had his done at almost 10 months old and didn't have any problems with bleeding. He also had to wait until he was older because of his size at birth and being born 10 wks early. He also had a slight condition called cordee, which was another reason they didn't cir until he was older.

He didn't have any bleeding though after surgery. I would keep an eye on it and see what happens. If it continues then I would definately contact your doctor. He would be going in for his post-op visit soon, correct??? At least my son did, so if the bleeding hasn't stopped, I would ask at that appointment.
