Depending on her personal situation, she might like an American Express or Discover Gift Card that she can spend anywhere.
I got one from an employer once for $250.00 and was in heaven!
I'm looking for some ideas for gifts for my babysitter for the holidays. Last year she had just started watching my son, so for Christmas I gave her a gift certificate to a spa. I know she liked it, but I don't want to do the same thing again. I want to really give her something to show how much I value her and appreciate all she does for my son. She watches my son in her home, and he is the only baby she has. She is so wonderful to him and I want to find something really nice that she will like. Any ideas would be helpful.

Hi J. W:
I do not know if you own a time share, but you should be able to get a free or great discount on a weekends, or a great weekend get away, if you do. The cost should not be much for a weekend and perhaps would run you approximately the same amount as a spa certificate. Somewhere really nice and local, so that she will not have to be concerned with travel expenses.
Good Luck

Hi J.!
The rule of thumb for is one weeks pay, but the other suggestions are excellent as well!
As a childcare provider myself, I know I really appreciated gift cards to restaurants or the movies. Sometimes it's nice to go out as a family when you've worked so hard all week. And having a gift card somewhere gives you the excuse to do that.
