Ideas for Disneyworld Christmas Gift for Kids

We are going to Disneyworld next month! We have never been, and I am super excited. Even better, my entire family (my parents, brother and his family, etc. 12 total people). We have not told our boys yet (ages 10 and 6), as we decided to make it their Christmas gift. I ordered some brochures, maps, etc but they didn't 'ship' until Tuesday, so I don't think they are going to get here by Saturday (maybe, but I'm not holding my breath).

Basically, I need some creative ideas that are FREE. i.e. I'm not going to run out to the Disney store and spend $15 each on mouse ears (not to mention I don't have the time or energy for visiting the mall the Friday before Christmas). I would like to incorporate something about how my family is going to be there too - e.g. we are going to DisneyWorld with your cousins, grandma and papa, or something along those lines. Mainly, because they have been complaining this past month about how they wish we could be with my family for Christmas (they live 700 miles away). How they miss their family, etc. We're planning to wrap whatever it is, and put it under the tree. Thoughts?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! Great Ideas! I admit I'm not creative enough for the treasure hunt, but I have started pulling clip art off the internet, and finding family photos. I also printed maps from Disneyworld.com and the flight itineraries. I'll try to incorporate them all into a booklet or something.

What about making a flyer that says something like "Can't wait to see you next month!" and sign it as their favorite Disney character(s). You can use clipart from the Disney website and maybe even insert a picture(s) of the family members that are going with you.

What about a treasure hunt, with a nice note about the event being the treasure at the end? You could make 'clues' to hide around the house on Christmas Eve night, and put pictures of family members on each clue. (This really depends on how crafty you are-- admittedly, this isn't something I could pull off on the computer, only with photos and tape.) Once the series of clues hidden around the house lead to the end, maybe you and your husband could sing the Mickey Mouse Club song, or let the boys call Grandparents to share their excitement.

Lynn has a great idea....and I say that because we did something similar. My grandparents live across the country and getting older and of course on a fixed income. So my mom, sister and I (along with our spouses) pulled together a homemade booklet of silly pictures that is supposed to reflect the craziness we are suffering as a result of us missing them so much. At the end of the book, it states that we are paying to fly them out to the east coast as a gift for them. So, something like that. Maybe pics of each character on a different page and then something at the on the last page stating, "What do all these characters have in common? They are waiting to meet you next month at Disney World!!!!" Something like that.
I am so incredibly excited for the opportunity you have to surprise them!!! EEEK!!!!

Make maps to the computer & put 'all things Disney' on, if they have their own accounts for yahoo, hotmail, etc. send them mail!

I am a Disney person & get all the 'news' from them on my 'puter!

Good Luck! What a wonderful gift....can I come too??????;p
