Ideas for Christmas Party Dinner

My husband owns his own business and has a couple of employees. There are only 6 people that would be dining out, and we are looking for someplace that would be a little different or more exciting than the usual restaurants to eat (ex. Applebee's, Famous Daves, Chili's, etc.) We are not huge dining out people and when we do go out to eat, we tend to eat at the same places over and over again. I was hoping that some of you might have some good ideas for us! We live in West Omaha (156th and Q), and we are hoping to stay fairly close to home so that we can come to our house for desert and a social gathering after dining out for dinner. We would like to keep our driving to a resonable distance between the restaurant and our house. Hopefully you will have ideas on the west side of town! Thanks for your help!

I know that Johnny's Italian Steakhouse at Village Pointe has the ability to section off rooms to make them more private for parties. They use curtains that give privacy and the food is great. Village Pointe is at 168 and Dodge. Hope this helps.

You have gotten some wonderful suggestions, but I have to tell you that Colton's closed on Labor Day :(. Too bad! They had excellent food!

S., It is funny you would ask this because I am in the same situation, exactly. Some places close to your home that you might try are The Upstream at 168th and center, Charlies on the Lake near 144th and L, or for a little more fun Genji at 144th and center (it is one of those Asian places you all sit and watch the chef cook your food.)

Good Luck!

You may want to try Lazlo's out on 190ish and West Center Road - across Center from Lanaha (sp?).

Very nice food, good atmosphere.

A couple of places I have in mind would be Colton's Woodfire Grill (171st & W. Center), Roja (168th & W. Center), Upstream is on 171st & Center as well or Lazlo's on 192nd & Center.
Happy Holidays

I've heard great reviews on The Melting Pot. It's in the Village Pointe shopping center. It's been a while since I've been out there, but I believe it's down by the theater.

Charleston’s is a great restaurant at about 140th and dodge, they do not have a party room, but have large tables. The food can get pricy($10.00-30.00 per entree), but it is very good. If you want a part room Biagies (sp) also at 140th and dodge is good. I do not prefer them over Charleston’s. Biagies has Italian food, while Charleston’s has "American" (steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches).
