Hi mamas,
My daughter will be turning two in a couple of weeks and there has been no time for planning a birthday party so I'm looking for some creative ideas for last minute activties or events to celebrate her b-day. Your suggestions are really appreciated. I'm searching for a venue that a two year old would love. We are in the swburbs. I'm feeling very guilty that I don't have anything yet especially since we had elaborate parties for my first. Help.
Thanks.

You could try an "old school" party at your home. Pin the tail on the donkey, musical paper (chairs at this age is dangerous), hot potato coloring pages and a pull string pinata. Birthdayexpress.com has a lot of ideas.
Good Luck,

Ps All my kids always prefer a party at home although having it somewhere else is less work!

i had my two year olds party at The Litle Gym in the city, but i know they have other venues. You might call to see if they have slots open. It was a blast. Every kid and adult loved it, a huge aread to run and jump with great teachers.

If there are lots of other kids coming, check out Little Village Play Place in Arlington Heights. It's really awesome for kids of various ages. Their website is the same as their name.
Good Luck,
S.

It depends on the ages of the other children and how much you want to spend, etc., but another good option are the jumping rooms. The Jump Zone, Pump It Up, etc. offer great packages. My kids love going there for open gym times.

we had our 2 yr party at the Elk Grove Pavilion, they have lots of "themed" party rooms, and the pool parties, the pool is very shallow so the parents dont really have to go in with the kids.

What about a trip to the city on the Metra and going to the aquarium or zoo or museum? We scheduled a group trip to the museum for my son since he LOVES dinosaurs...he was sick taht weekend but they were willing to change the date on my tickets so we are going in June. It is like a big adventure to them!

this might not be convenient for you, but i had my 2yr old's party at Pied Piper Parties and Playschool. Its in Chicago, but they will plan the entire party for you, you just give them your guest list.

Good luck!
