Ideas for a Preschool Snack Which Honors/represents Canada

My preschooler is beginning a geography unit learning about countries around the world. I have signed up to bring a snack for Canada. Store bought or homemade - no peanuts. My one ideas is sugar cookies in the shape of a maple leaf with red frosting---would need to find a maple leaf cookie cutter in the next 10 days. Any ideas, recipes, suggestions, products that have a maple leaf on it?

EDIT: I confirmed that Trader Joe's have a creme filled maple leaf cookie. I might just go ahead with this option. Please continue to send your ideas as I still have time.

My mom's whole family and I are Canadian. I grew up with my mom always making shortbread cookies and butter tarts (which are kind of like cupcake-size pecan pies, but you don't have to have the nuts in them). If you can't find a maple leaf cookie cutter, you might print out a red maple leaf, or the flag, to use as a little place mat.
Oh, and nanaimo bars were always at family gatherings. They're a little more involved to make, but delicious, and you can leave the nuts out.

If you can find the cookie cutter, you could also cut cheese in the right shape or sandwiches.
