I have IBS but I also have real bad gerd and my stomach produces alot of acid I was able to take myself off of my stomach meds a few months back and have done great. But now I'm having more IBS flare ups or what I assume are IBS could it be from my extra acid or is it just IBS stuff( don't want to give all the yucky details on here). How do you control your IBS I don't want to be on pills so anything but that would be great. Thank You for your time!!

S.,
I know a website where you can listen to audios on health issues. There is an excellent one there on digestive issues that talks about IBS. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you the info.

Magnesium Malate supplements will help you. Try to take a low dose,(since they can cause loose stool) then, get magnesium chloride (magnesium oil) to rub on your skin every day. It takes a month or more to get Mg levels back up to where they are suppose to be.
Then, take Lugols solution 1 drop in water 2x a day. Stop all vit D milk- use watered down cream in place of milk. Don't take ANY supplements with vitamin D or calcium.

which version of IBS do you have? extreme constipation? or extreme loose stools?

I get really constipated. the answer for me has been a fresh fruit smoothie with fiberwise mixed in and to make sure i am working out everyday, even if it is just a little! it helps a TON.

I have IBS with diarrhea. Not sure which version you have. I have to avoid all acidic foods -- caffeine (including coffee and chocolate), citrus, tomatoes. I also take a fiber supplement daily, which balances things out. I also eat Fiber One cereal and eat greek yogurt, which is full of probiotics. This combination gives me many more good days than bad. I pretty much know now when I'll have a bad day because it's after I splurge and have some chocolate or tomato sauce or other triggers.

Good luck! IBS is awful to deal with, but can get manageable.
