I Recently Became a Widow and I Am Looking for a Widows Group or Other Widows.

I really am responding with no advice.....I just feel so sorry for your loss, I had to write in and say something!

I don't know of any Widows Groups off-hand, but I will search everywhere for you. I think my church has a Widows Retreat (I could be wrong though).

All I can offer now, is that I have an 11 yr old son, as well. We can always get them together so that I can take you out for an hour every now and then. I live in Modesto, and my husband would love to help you in anyway possible, just like me.

put god first in everything you do, and it will help open many door's bring many blessing's, and your healing will take a while but you will find many victories, and make sure your boy's have an outlet besides you to confide in, ang to receive councel as well, i just recently went through a divorce, and have two girl's and i do miss their dad at times, well take care..

Hi J.. I don't have any experience in this situation, but I want to let you know how sorry I am. I can't even imagine how you are feeling right now.

I know that Emanuel Medical Center has a grieving group that meets often, at least a few times a month. I checked the other hospitals and didn't find anything. You could also check with some of the church groups or see if Emanuel knows of any other groups. Again, I'm sorry for the loss of your husband.

I do not know of any Widows groups. But want to let you know that it will take time to heal. My husband and I were married 20.5 years when I lost him. My son was 19yrs. and my daughter was 16yrs. It was very hard on them. But with time they have gotten better. He passed from this life 22years ago, and somedays feel like yesterday, but with the help of God I know you will get thou it also. Just take one day at a time, and remember all the good times you had with him. It will get easier. My husband was a preacher, so I really lean on God to get thou each day, and it does get easier, the hurt is still there as I miss him dearly. But I know I will see him again someday. May God walk with you and your family.

I have no idea what you are going through right now and I am very, deeply sorry for your loss. I do not know of any widows groups but you can probably find some great resources online, try babyfit, they have message boards for all types of families and maybe craigslist?
