I Need a Good Singer!

Help!!! I am having an intimate dinner at the end of April at my home to celebrate my husband's birthday. I am trying to assemble his favorite things. One is the song 'Redeemed' by Big Daddy Weave. I would love to have a man who can perform a heartfelt rendition of this song, maybe with the cd, or even better if he can play it on guitar and sing. I will pay him. I may want a couple more inspirational songs as well, maybe for a total of 3 songs. Most likely just 1 hours worth of work. Does anyone know a person who perhaps sings at local private functions who would be interested? I am in Grand Prairie, Texas, and it will be at about 7pm. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Call your local High School Choir director. You will be amazed. Or call your local church and ask.

Call a local church and ask to speak with the worship pastor, they might be able to do it or know someone who can. Good luck.

Love the idea of local choir - but don't limit to high school. TCU, UNT, UTA I bet they all have music departments. Also, take a look at local churches or google vocal coaches. I have a friend who does vocal coaching, but she herself is an Ah-Mah-zing singer.

Good luck. sound like a great idea.

Definitely check with the nearest college/university music programs! There will be some incredible singers there, and any college music student would be STOKED to have a paying gig! Experience, exposure, pizza money, maybe even a bit of extra credit for a class. I spent two years as a music major and anyone in my department would have jumped at this kind of opportunity.

Have a great party!!

My sister found her wedding singer on craigslist. She wanted someone to sing a sort of obscure social distorition song, hoping for a another fan who would understand why she was using this song as a wedding song. Guess who replied and ended up singing it? The wife of one of the social distortion band members. She did a great job and it was so special. Sounds like you are looking for someone who really "gets" your song and the meaning it will have for you. Put it out there on CL, never know what you'll get!

Try some local churches. Also try Craigslist (put an ad up - they are free) and try high schools and colleges.
