I Need a Breastfeeding Doctor/specialist on LI

Have they also treated the baby for thrush? From what I know you pass it back and forth and both need to be on meds for it to completely go away.

I dont know of anyone on LI but Christina Smillie in Stratford, CT, (just past Bridgeport) is fabulous. Her # is ###-###-####. Maybe she can refer you to someone on LI or talk it over the phone. If you do make the drive the trip is totally worth it. She has been a lifesaver to me.

The blister sounds like a plugged duct to me. It could be preventing the flow of milk, hence the lower supply.

I recommend calling a La Leche League leader in your area. You can go to www.lllusa.org and find your local group and call one or all the leaders. They can help you and if you want to go to a lactaction consultant, they can give you references for that as well. Hope that helps!

Theresa O'Donnell was my lactation consultant when I first had my son and she was so comforting and helpful and listened to my concerns. She has kids of her own and came recommended by my pediatrician. Her phone # is ###-###-#### and her cell is ###-###-####. She is also a nurse and she works a few days a week so it may take a day for her to get back to you.
She lives in Queens and she came to my apartment for a few hours and I think I paid about $150- money well spent as I had a c-section and lots of problems breastfeeding, but thanks to her help and my persistence, we are still going strong at 11 months. She also followed up with several phone calls to make sure I was doing well. Sometimes you can submit a receipt to your health insurance provider and they will pay some of it.
