My period has always been irregular. But now is 20 days late. I don't understand, he used the condom every time. What can this happen? My breasts are swollen and hurt, my belly hurts as if I'm going to have my period and I am feeling sick... I already have a little boy and my relationship with my husband is really though. He has been abusive towards me (emotionally, pshisically, sexually)...how can I bring another child into this mix? I am going to have a preg test, but I am so scared!!! What if I am pregnant? Then what? Should I keep it? I don't want to, my life has been really bad with this man and I don't want another child with him! On the other side, I cannot take a life, I don't know how I should live with that. We are also very tighed financially, husband gambles a lot...so what options do I have? It is really not fair. I used protection, why is this happening?

What can I do next?

stop having sex with someone who hates you-get tested-have the baby if you're pregnant and put the baby up for adoption. Good luck-you need it.

Don't take an at-home pregnancy test. Get to an OB-Gyn now. And tell her all of this. Whether or not you are pregnant, she can refer you to resources for abused women. If you are not pregnant, she can also help you decide on a form of birth control that is more reliable than condoms.

BTW - when you call your OB's office, they will probably tell you to take an at-home test before you come in. Tell them no, you have extenuating circumstances that you don't want to discuss, and insist on an appointment. No matter what they say, just keep saying you need an appointment until they make one for you.

Get yourself out of the situation with your husband. Find relatives, a friend, a shelter, call a local agency that helps battered women, find a local church, call a crisis pregnancy cneter - they will often help you find all the resources you need. That's your first priority. Adoption is a beautiful solution. I know so many families who've adopted kids - I can think of a dozen kids right off the top of my head - well balanced lovely teenagers who've had the benefits of a family who loves them - and can afford to welcome them in to their family. Adoptive parents will often help cover your living expenses during your pregnancy.

If your husband is abusive and a gambler you need to protect yourself and your child. Make that your first priority. Then figure out what to do with baby #2 - if there is one. Stress can also make your cycle irregular - so even if you're not pregnant - get youself and your child out of the situation. it will be a really tough thing to do - initially - but it will pay off in the long run. You deserve a so much better.

No one here can answer these questions for you. We know nothing about you or your situation. If you had sex, even with protection, you could be pregnant.

Pregnant or not, you and your son need to get to a domestic violence shelter ASAP. You and your son are not safe with your husband and if you are pregnant then your unborn child is not safe.

Why do you stay this "man" ? He is abusive to you..... do you want your boy to grow up and think that this is how he should treat HIS partner?

As someone else very succinctly said, dump the man, keep the baby.

Yes, it will be tough...... but you deserve MUCH better!

Talk to a women's shelter, make your escape plan, take your child and leave.
Birth control can fail.
Anytime you have sex it's possible to get pregnant.
If you don't want anymore kids then have your tubes tied after you have your baby.
Then concentrate on bettering yourself (get an education and a job) and raising your kids and stay away from men.

Before jumping to conclusions, take a pregnancy test. Your anxiety at this point could be all for nothing. Stress can do weird things to your cycle and your body. If you really don't want to have another baby (and want to continue to have sex with him), you have to take control of your fertility yourself. Get on birth control if you are able to do so. Then start to make a plan to get out of the situation. This should be an eye-opener for you.

Don't put the cart before the horse.
Take a test.

If you're NOT pg, remember the terror you feel right now.
Get on birth control yourself so you have the power to make that decision.
Then start making a plan for a better life for you & your son.

If you are pg, please call a women's shelter. They can help get you and your 3 yo out of the house safely.
Good luck.
