I just found out about a new indoor playground being opened in Liberty the first of October. I am so excited!

I spoke with the owner and he's looking for suggestions on what moms with several kids and daycare providers with several kids can afford if they were to take the kids often.

I have another question mostly for the moms but the providers too.. I feel that my daycare parents already pay me a bit on the high side for my area. But I'm nervous about how much my kids will like this place and how much it will cost if we want to go every week. How much do you think is fair to ask parents to chip in on day outings? In 21 years I've NEVER asked for parents to pay for anything like this. It seems to me that I'd hate being hit with all kinds of little charges if I had my own kids in daycare. If I take them even once though, they'll ask me to take them back all the time.

To ad:.. Yeah, I take the kids places all the time. I've even paid quite a lot to take kids to World's of Fun, the zoo, and we play at McDonald's at least once per week where I'll pay 25 or more to feed 4 children. But this place is going to be 7 dollars for individual children and the group rates haven't been posted yet. So it won't be that much I'm sure. But even 5 per child if it ends up around there would be 20+ food and I would like to take the kids there weekly. If I do that I'll probably pay around 160 per month when food is added in. But it will likely just be something I take out of my own budget. It's a brand new building and will be filled with many types of bouncers, an obstacle course and I'm not sure what all. But the picture of the building is huge so I'm sure it will be fun.

What can I do next?

But from reading you information above, that'd only be $5 extra a week, right? Sure, a little more if you factor in lunch, but eating out isn't necessary. I definitely wouldn't have a problem paying $5 more a week for my kids to go to something fun (and for someone else to have the headache of taking them there and watching them! haha!).

Mission has an indoor playground at the rec center during the cold season. They only charge $2 per child and $1 for additional children. No charge for parents. This is very reasonable obviously so we go lots. I bet that's too low for a privately owned place. What all will they have there? That would determine how much we would expect to pay. As far as outings, I've never been asked to pay for one by my daycare. They've only taken them to Deanna Rose (free) and to the local pool. They bought their meals and paid their entrance fee to the pool. I think if it were an occasional outing, that might be ok to ask parents to pay, but I bet many would not agree. It would depend on the amount.

Try only making it a once a month outing. I know as a parent to spend that kind of money once a week would be tough. And I would not like my prices for the daycare to go up to pay for it. Why not try and see if you can take their lunches, maybe the place will allow that, that would save some money. I don't think parents are going to like to pay that much more per week.

As a parent who send her kiddos to daycare I would not have a problme with paying the extra each week IF I knew in advance...say a month that the price was going to change. I would love for them to go places!! Sounds fun.
