My 19 month old finally started taking unassisted steps, tonight. I'm so excited , I cried like a baby!!! He's so proud of himself. If any of you have read my previous posts , I have been a complete mess about this. I'm still worried and know he's still behind but this is a huge accomplishment and I'm so proud of him. I'm not much of a crier but anything good happen, that you've cried about?

What can I do next?

Yay!!!! Congrats, baby! I went through a similar thing with my son who walked at 18 months. I wasn't too worried about it because he had been walking for a long time but always wanted to hold on to something. My observation and instincts told me that he was fine, just scared! And he is and has always been a cautious guy. But when we went for his 18 mo check-up at the doctor, they got me all riled up saying he should have an evaluation and possibly physical therapy appointments. It was a hard decision but i decided against it ... and I'm so glad! In a few weeks he was walking on his own and because he was older, he did it like a pro! Missed out on that whole falling-down clumsy phase. It empowered me to know that my instincts were right. And ps. I cry all the time when my son does new things, cute things, just about anything. Watching him grow up is like witnessing a miracle, it is very emotional for me. So happy for you!

Their performances: dance recitals, reading at church, VBS songs, etc. I'm a sucker for all those!
